Buy a different one

Ice maker is loud. Clean it every month and it seems to get louder and louder. I would buy a different product. Paid too much to have this much trouble.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent ice but a headache

So glad I purchased the 5 year warranty on this item techs have been out so many times and at this point they told me they have replaced 100% of the parts. My family and I absolutely love this ice maker but wow what a nightmare and poor engineering. You will find as the other reviews that the pump after a while will never stop running and is very loud. My guess is the lines get clogged with black mold that you can visibly see. Poor design but an amazing quality ice maker. We paid a ton for this product I would expect more from GE. Happy for anyone from GE to contact me happy to show you anything you need to see to hopefully fix this and all the other issues in these reviews.

Better be nimblw and small to do maintenance

Unless you are a contortionist. Trying to clean this thing is ridiculous. Black mold , instructions tell tiu to turn water valve off. Where? Put toxic cleaning soulition in , where? Lay on the foor and reach into the vack pulling the hose off to ckean take parts off and back on. Not to mention the super hug price it was when first came out
