Fits well but makes an awful noise

Works well enough, but the noise it makes when turned on evolved from a very faint moan early on to an unacceptable screeching/whining sound at present. Happily, a GE tech came out today, told us it was a motor problem, and will be doing the repair in 2 weeks. We're looking forward to a quieter experience in the future!

THIS DOWNDRAFT COMPLIMENTS MY NEW INDUCTION COOKTOP VERY WELL. MOTORIZATION WORKS WITH EASE AND HANDY CONTROLLER AT MY FINGERTIPS IS A BONUS.

I had an old Thermador pop up, downdraft vent and needed to upgrade to something of the same style, and I'm so glad GE had one that fit perfectly and looks beautiful. The only reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating is because it's a bit loud, and the suction is good... just not super-powerful. If I really want it to capture everything, I use the back burners.

We have only had it for a short while, but so far it works great! It clears out all the cooking smells from the kitchen which I really appreciate.

We bought this new GE Monogram Down Draft Vent to replace our old one. This new model is much sleeker and easier to clean. Also, much more effective and quite.

I have to have the control mechanism in the cabinet under the counter because of the granite counter top. It is a little inconvenient but at least I don't have a big hole in the wall or countertop. The draw is not as good as the Thermadore down draft I had but it is sure better than having the fan unit in the middle of the stove top, I am satisfied as it did fit the old spot. Wish it had the control on the unit,
