I ordered this by mistake. I needed a 962, however it should work in my HP8710. They look the same and both fit into my machine so why different numbers. There is something wrong about the whole thing.

Your printer was not designed to use that particular cartridge. The one it uses will work properly with the internal requirements of its ink system.
