I purchased my Epson WorkForce WF-7520 All-in-One Printer based on reviews and specs. It is not what is advertised or lack of information. It cannot scan duplex 11" x 17". The scan is very slow and the scanner does not work without installation of ink.
Why does all manufacturers check for ink first and disable other features, scan and fax, if there is no ink? Answer: make money!
My primary use is scan followed by print, copy, and least important fax.

Highly disappointed

I bought this printer because of the large format paper which I use to print job plans. Printer jams EVERY time I print duplex copies or multiple copies of a job. When printing with large format paper, several sheets get fed into the feeder at a time. Printing is streaky and poor quality. Only redeeming quality is that it prints pretty quickly for a mid-priced printer.

will not recognize usb as network connection. will not allow file changes for scanned images. cumbersome time consuming setup. web site too intrusive for updates or management of printer. still undecided if want to keep it.

AWFUL PRINTER!!!

I thought I could make do with this printer, but as time passes, it gets worse. 1. It is VERY LOUD. 2. The roller squeaks all the time and is loud and annoying. 3. The paper continually jams (have tried different kinds), and from both drawers. 4. The rear unit is very hard to get to when said paper jams.
I wish I hadn't bought this. I curse every time I print. I hate to waste money, but I am wasting so much time, that I am looking for a new one. It will NOT be an Epson!!!

Brand new machine leaks black ink on all large format printing right where the paper is gripped. Has outstanding color but it doesn't matter...

EPSON WF7520 WIDE FORMAT PRINTER DOUBLE SIDE PRINT PROBLEMS ETC
I purchased this printer in order to print 8.5 x 11 size yearbooks for our church school. by using 11 x 17 sheets of glossy brochure paper. I configured my printer settings for double side printing using this size paper and high print quality then printed, but the printer ignored my selections and printed normal quality onto two separate sheets! I rechecked my print settings and they had all reverted to single page prints and the lower print quality. I tried all different setups and configurations to get to print the way it should. Finally hours later the printer sent a message to my monitor display that this printer would not print double sided high quality prints on glossy paper when 11 x 17 paper is selected it said I must choose another paper size or go with manual feed and use low quality print on plain paper. I hope there is some software or firmware upgrade to correct this situation as I like this printer otherwise, but it will not perform the primary function which I purchased it for at all!

Great Printer- With A Lot of Work

I was in need of a large format printer for my documentation business. After a lot of research and the recommendation of the sales person, I selected the WF-7520 as it had everything I was looking for in a large format printer.
Here’s what I found: Out of the box the output quality of this printer was sub-standard. Severe banding and poor overall text quality was the best it could do. My experience with previous Epson printers suggested that this unit was either defective or the print head needed to be aligned and cleaned.
Rather surprising as this unit was new and the box was factory sealed. Searching for a fix to this problem, I noted there was a firmware update for this printer on Epson's website, so I downloaded it and flashed the printer with the new firmware. The results were better, but still well short of my expectations for a business class product like this. Next, I performed a print head alignment via Epson's software interface. This routine took a number of attempts before I could print a test page without banding.
My printouts were much improved, but I still had lines through solid color areas of my documents. I was about ready to return this unit to my local office supply store where I purchased it as the output was still not what I needed for my business.
As a last resort, I ran the nozzle check and found that some of the ink nozzles were clogged. I had to run the print head cleaning routine a number of times to clear up the issue, but after doing so the output of the printer went from barely acceptable to, quite frankly, the best I have ever seen from an inkjet printer. Blacks are solid and even, solid colors are very well rendered and blended shades look as good as I have ever seen from professional print shops.
Bottom line, to get the most out of this printer, you have to spend some time setting up properly for best results. It's easy to do via Epson's excellent software interface and you will be rewarded with simply outstanding print results!
Highly Recommended!

Epson WF-7520 All-in-One

At this writing I have been using the 7520 about 10 months. I really like the machine as a scanner, and for printing text, especially 2-sided printing. I find it unusable, however, for printing color pictures on a page. When I try, it prints a light line, mostly yellow in color and about one printed line in height, all the way across the page. This happens about every 2" in areas of the page that include a color picture. I have tried changing the ink cartridges. It did not help. The machine is connected to my network wirelessly, and I print from any of several computers, always with the same result if the job includes a color picture. I do not know if the fault is with the printer hardware, with printer software, with my network, or due to some other reason. I do know that I have other printers that do not behave this way.
