Does Not Auto-duplex 11X17
on March 10, 2014

Be aware that WF-7510 and WF-7520 models provide "automatic 2-sided printing", only for letter and A4 size (8.3 X 11.7) paper. Two-sided printing for 11 X 17 paper is not automatic. You must manually remove sheets, reverse and turn them following an onscreen prompt. This distinction between duplex and auto-duplex is left unclear in the marketing materials.

Couldn't Ask for More

I got my WF-7520 in May of this year and have been using it heavily ever since, volunteering for a local historical group that is creating a large archive of documents relating to the history of the community. The WF-7520 has met or exceeded my expectations in every way and offers extraordinary value for its price.
My work for the archive project has mostly involved scanning many hundreds of documents, from complete newspaper sections, reports, and photographs to scraps of handwritten notes. I estimate that I have made as many as 10,000 scans with the WF-7520. I expect that I have made more scans by far in ten weeks than the WF-7520 was ever designed and built to do in its entire lifetime.
Ultimately, the scanner failed, most likely mechanically. Scanning using the document feeder still works fine (for these scans, the documents move over the stationary scan arm), but scans requiring the scanner arm to travel across the document table are now incomplete. After e-mailing Epson support about the problem and talking with a support technician who had me run some diagnostic tests, Epson has sent me a replacement.
I would not hesitate to buy Epson again.

WF 7520 Great 12x12 Scrapbooking
on May 5, 2012

Phenomenal printer. Scans 11.7 x 12, and prints 12 x 12. We scan and print on 12 x 12 card stock and printing full out only leaves about 1/8 inch white border all around. Trim it and looks great.
We also make Scrapbook 12 x 12 pages from a photo as background. Can copy any paper you have and print cheap.
Ink last a reasonable number of pirnts. Does great 13 x 19 photos. Tray expands that large. I had to put 12 x 12 paper in as a custom size just once.
It has 2 trays. I keep regular letter size cheap paper in tray 2 and use tray 1 for card stock and photos.
also I have this set up as network and I can print to it from my office in another town. Sets up easy and does automatic wireless setup since it is a larger unit and I had to put it across the room.
I am amazed at all it does for its low price. Scan is straight forward and saves as a number. I changed it to save as Scan xx in the My Pictures file and then change the name to a description. You can scan finished Scrapbook pages and email to family, etc.

Windows 7/Office 2013 Users Beware!
on May 27, 2013

Printer is great but the software install needs serious help. There apparently is a major foo-pa with the driver included on the CD. It rendered my freshly installed Office 2013 running on a fresh Windows 7 install completely unusable and unrecoverable. Starting any office product subsequent to loading the driver resulted in "Office error - unable to start". Repairing Office 2013 failed to correct the issue. Reloading Office 2013 even failed to correct the issue! I had to restore the entire system partition from a backup (or reload windows from scratch if no backup). This is really an unforgivable problem! The second time around, after several wasted hours I updated the Epson driver from the internet before completing the software install and it seems to work fine now. The meager written documentation included in the box fails to contain key information needed to run the install CD - like warning the installer to be sure to get the latest driver off the internet before installing and also even a brief description of what the software installation options are and what they do! When installing, you must either answer yes/no or abort without even knowing if you want to install the feature - like "Epson Connect" which turns out to be a email print proxy server that you might just not want.
Regarding the printer - WiFi setup was easy even using the keypad entry method. No problems connecting to 802.11-g or 802.11-n. Throughput on scanning was pleasingly fast compared to older Epson USB2.0 interface. IMHO Epson makes remarkably high quality scans & prints - I have owned quite a few to compare with. One minor disappointment though was discovering that the scan from printer console feature is rather limited in choice of LAN destinations. My workaround was to just plug a large capacity USB stick into the printer and park the scans there until they can be picked up later as mapped local drive at the workstations. Will be using this unit on a LAN with a variety of platforms including XP,Vista,7, and MAC OS10 so I'll report back if any other issues come up.

Epson Workforce WF-7520 All-in-one

Near being entirely dissatisfied with the printer:
1. Start with the so called manual does not cover much more than obvious items
2. Online Help does not really read and understand the questions submitted
3. Even after being told that I am deaf and can not use the telephone to secure help; they continue to insist that I call; IF, I want an answer to my question that I should call a given number.
I believe that the majority of those needing help would call, leaving the hearing impaired as the ones most likely seeking E-mail assistance, there fore it would be the best policy to handle these inquiries as though they are coming from a hearing impaired person.
4, I am lucky that I use plain paper, not photo paper for my first attempt at any large size prints, otherwise I would be going broke on the wasted paper.
5. The menu should cover ALL standard photograph sizes in the paper size list.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

"OK" 2 Tray All-In-One Unit
on July 19, 2014

Generally a nice unit. Confusing directions. My bottom tray doesn't fit quite right and 'snap in place' properly; I'm sure it's only a matter of time before some piece breaks. Very disappointed that it doesn't 'recognize' originals sizes when scanning, copying or printing sent from the computer, or even landscape versus portrait when copying; so there is a LOT of time 'making selections' whenever you do anything except print a simple 8 x 11 sheet.

I cant say that my WF-7520 is the best printer I have ever owned because all I owned are Epson printers including Stylus 9600 wide format printer and a R220 which is great for printing on CD. The print quality is excellent even on photos. It has great features including the 2 sided print/copy option and the large format (11x!7) capability. I currently have it set up as a cloud printer which enables me to print from my Kindle Fire. The Epson IPrint feature allows me to scan and print right from my smart phone and with the email print I am able to print from anywhere in the world

My Perfect Printing and Scanning Solution
on December 6, 2012
Posted by: Gebirgsjgr
from Harrisburg, PA
I recently purchased and installed a WF-7520 to replace my aging All-in-One. My basic parameters were to not lose any functionality (which included 2-sided and network printing), and to provide the newer remote/wireless/mobile printing options. I spent some time on the internet and local stores reviewing my options. I was very pleased with the WF-7520 features – I especially looked forward to using the large scanner and paper, multiple paper trays, and higher-definition scans and prints.
1. Packing – the product was well packed and not damaged. I was pleasantly surprised that there weren’t a lot of extra things to deal with. Printer; power cord; phone line; manuals – done! Everything that could move in shipping was tapped down and secure.
2. Installation – first of all, I can see how some home users may be put off by the size. I was prepared (it was only slightly larger than the printer it replaced) and I wanted the ability to use large paper. The physical installation went very smoothly with 8 simple steps and no glitches. The software installation also went very smoothly without any surprises or issues. I must say that I did not use the installation CD. I was installing on a Windows 8 machine and the online support page gave instructions on what to do, since the WIN8 software/drivers have not been released yet. Therefore, I do not know what would have happened if I had used the CD.
3. Testing – all the basic functions were easy to use immediately. I copied a document from the glass and the automatic feeder; I scanned some photos using the front panel and included software; I tested the FAX; I printed photos from a memory card; I sent a remote print; and then the real test – I printed a number of different types of documents, graphics and photos from the computer. Everything worked flawlessly and in fact many things worked better than with my old printer.
Conclusion: This is the perfect printing and scanning solution for my needs. It is fast and yet the quality of the output is great and it is quieter than the old printer. The text, graphics and photos look great. The automatic document feeder continues to work flawlessly – something the old printer had problems with. The additional scan and print size gives me the flexibility I’ve been looking for.
Things I don’t know yet: I was concerned about going to another printer manufacture. My previous multi-function printers have been very durable and maintenance free. This printer looks and feels like it is of good quality, but only time and use will prove that. I was also concerned about ink costs. My expectations for ink use and costs have been set by my experience with my previous printers. Again – only time and use will demonstrate if this is more or less expensive.
