Took the printer out of the box and found it worked perfectly from the get go. You have to follow the setup instructions in the quick start guide for wireless setup and not try to manually set it up from the menus. The printing and scanning software is easy to use. You will want to practice using the auto select and the manual choice of paper trays. Same with scanning, the sheet feeder handled a 5 page dual sided scanning to PDF job perfectly but you will want to practice the process to get all the options down. I would definitely get another one of these. Oh, one last thing, the paper capacity, out of this world compared to others, I wont have to replenish more than once a week with this one, Great!

Pros: Fast, great looking B&W as well as color prints and photos Easy on ink. Easy installation, intuitive front panel controls. Convenient memory card slots.
Cons: Envelopes have to be printed from cassette 1 which means you have to unload the main paper cassette every time you want to print an envelope Envelope position indicator is stamped upside down causing you to print upside down if you forget. Slows down computer restarts since the card slots are recognized as disk drives.

This printer is huge. Handles larger print sizes well. It has a large footprint and is comparatively heavy, as should be expected. It seems very solid compared to the flimsiness of other brands I've owned. Ink cartridges seem to last longer than other brands. Software acted oddly when I first installed the drivers, would have been better off downloading directly from the website to my Mac.

Overall, the printer is good. I bought it for the wide format feature, which works well. What does not work well is the duplex feature which ends up jamming the printer frequently. This is frustrating and a waste of time.

Workforce pros & cons

1. Prints beautifully on pages up to 13" x 19" which is why I got it. 2. Ink tanks make it very economical to run. 3. Pints beautiful flyers. I have used it for posters 4. Ink really dries instantly. 5. Has 2 paper cassettes that you can set as default for a software program like Quickbooks so it will always draw from the designated cassette to print for instance- checks. But you can still have plain paper in the other cassette so you do not have to change paper.
Cons 1. Paper jams when there is not much paper left. 2. Distinctive ring fax is not dependable. It tends to answer when the call is not a fax. 3. You cannot use an answering machine with it no matter what it says.
All the all-in-one machines I have had in the last 15 or more years has the distinctive ring feature figure out which call it is by the second ring. This machine assumes it is all other calls first and then tries to figure out if it is the distinctive ring. So I can't use my answering machine on it because it can't dependably tell if it is a fax or not so the answering machine picks up at the same time as the fax.
I tried all different number of rings to answer but the distinctive ring fax only works most of the time when the machine is set to answer on 4 rings. Because it gets mixed, the fax machine screeches into the answering machine.
I have set up 6 machine for distinctive ring over the years and never had a problem.

Instructions

I am very pleased with the quality of the copies and the copier itself, but not with the use instructions. I feel that I can be doing so much more with it but cannot figure out some of the features. The booklet gets you started and online doesn't touch on much more....one example is the dual paper cassettes. How are they used? Cannot find instructions online or thru the copier's menu. Things like that that may be common to regular office workers, not the at-home consumer.

on the install sheet, the instruction to not install the usb cable should be in bold lettering after the install ink carts instructions. You still have instructions on the viewer after installing the disc, not good.

Overall prints well, do have problems with paper jamming. We have tried numerous brands and weights of paper and they all jam. Just keep trying new brands and manufacturers.
