Epson WF-7520 Printer Review
on November 8, 2013

I recently purchased a refurbished WF-7520 printer directly from Epson. I really like purchasing refirb units because I save money and it includes all of the related items and is packed very well for shipping. Also, they tend to work like new and one can't generally tell that they are refurbished.
I selected this printer because of its unusually large scanning bed. Since I already own an Epson WF-3540 printer, which does most of my printing, I wanted a printer that could scan large publications to save me the space of storing these publications for the future. Most people purchase printers and rate printers as to their printing capabilities, I am more interested in their scanning functionality.
The price was excellent for such a multi-faceted printer. The shipping was really quick, and considering that it was free, it was really worth it. Everything was included in the box and the printer was packed just like a new printer.
Setting up the printer was easy. Just take off all of the tape, put the printer in its final resting place, select the settings, install the cartridges, load the paper, connect the lines, install the software, update the drivers, and generally get everything ready for service. I had no trouble with any of these steps. The printer started to print with no problem and learning to scan with the larger bed took very little effort. Having had the 3540, the Epson scanning software is identical and all it does is ask which printer I want to use before the scanning software loads. It is very smooth and seamless.
My roommate has a MacBook Pro and he wanted to utilize the wireless printing and scanning capability of the unit. The printing (on either printer) was no problem. He had a problem installing the scanning software and had to utilize Epson Technical Support. On the Mac side, there has to be two separate scanning software programs. He told me that this has to do with the way the software is written for the Mac. At any rate, the ultimate result is that it appears to work fine for the Mac although not as "elegantly" as for the PC.
As I have just begun my scanning project, I cannot attest as to the reliability of the printer, but based upon my usage of the 3540, it should be just fine, if treated with its due respect. It is nice to have both printers from Epson as their fundamentals are so similar as to make it so much easier to operate and utilize.
Thank you for permitting me to provide this information.

Such a deal. It scans very well, it prints single sided and double sided, and it does both on both "A" size and "B" size (11"x17"). It has two paper holder trays for two sizes of paper (or not, as you get to choose). I believe it also can scan both sides of a document, but I haven't tried that yet. Connectivity is great, offering either USB or wireless.

The bad news, the WF-7520 takes up more space on my desk top than previous 'normal' printers. The good news, it works! Simple to operate. Simple to scan. I use this in an architectural office. It prints all my office documents AND half-scale D-size drawings with ease. Blogs all seemed to warn about fast ink consumption. This has not been my problem. I've had this printer for about six weeks in a professional setting and have just started replacing the starter cartridges.

This printer has everything that one could want in an all-in-one printer including scan, copy, FAX, wide format (paper as large as 13" x 19"), 2-sided printing, multiple page feeder, high capacity ink cartridges, WiFi, and easy installation. Just follow the installation instruction sheet carefully and it installs flawlessly. It would be helpful if "ABBYY FinePoint Reader" were explained as to what it is so that one knows what they are installing.

Epson 7520 13X19" Printer

This is a great printer for home or office. I am putting it to the test for Large Photos to Business Cards, along with letters and scanning. Working just great.
Well built and solid as a good product should be,
made for long hard rugged use. This is no lightweight-throw-away printer. It weighs a good 40 lbs.
The setup was a breeze with the included disk, just follow on screen instructions and you are up and running, ready to print.
Although I haven't used the FAX feature, it has that, too. Good for your Home Based business or personal pleasure, this Epson will get the job done.
A Quality Product, that really works.

I HAVE BEEN USING EPSON PRINTERS FOR OVER 10 YEARS AND HAVE UPGRADED EVERY FEW YEARS. THE LAST EPSON WAS THE ARTISAN 837.
MY SON NEEDED A PRINTER SO I GAVE HIM THE ARTISAN AND PURCHASED MY FIRST WF-7520. AFTER SETTING IT UP ... IT PERFORMED FLAWLESS.
GREAT VIBRANT PRINT AND COLORS.

Exactly like the Reviews

After reading several reviews before purchase, it turns out that said reviews mirrored the actual product. For example, the paper tray seems cheap, true, but works fine. The paper can jam if not placed properly, true, but once you figure out the magic spot, it works great. And lastly...when scanning it sounds like pieces are breaking, also true, but the scans are effortless. If there is a single complaint its the difficulty of selecting a high resolution print job. Its takes a few steps and occasionally your selections disappear. Overall, the printer was easy to set up and has worked fine so far.

WorkForce 7520 a true workhorse

I have owned this product for over a year now and it has done well. Not many manufacturers make a large format all-in-one printer for home/home-base business use. The workforce 7520 is a great buy for me. I scan large portraits and documents with ease and without reduction. My wife is a PR person and she work with her sister to print booklets for family occasions. I am an A/V equipment installer and live sound engineer. I draw layout documentation for installation, floor seating arrangements for events so having a larger page print documentation is a bit more easy on the eyes and facilitates better productivity on the installs. I would advise anyone who does drawing on a small scale to buy this printer. I is worth it. You don't have to always out-source all you drawings and maps
