STUNNING!

This is a beautiful TV. Always gets comments on it's beauty especially its stunning picture. Several updates already which keeps improving what I see. Paired with my Sony 4K receiver I am in techno heaven! Folks, you get what you pay for and while a little pricey, this is a perfect example.

Should have bought sooner

Wish we would have bought sooner but then we might have missed out on the 4K. Love the smart TV Apps and it's the best picture ever. We have always had Sony and feel this is the best to date.

Most beautifull TV owned, Apps loading delayed

Colors are beautiful, bright even it's edge lit. Thin bezel makes this TV look like a border-less print photo. Dual TV controls are helpful. Enough ports to accommodate all of your devices. Built-in Wifi is suffice once the Apps are loaded; you actually will need to wait longer loading the Apps, but that's not a problem. Built-in speaker only good enough for news and general programming, for music video & movies you sure need add on audio system. 4K videos are awesome! No screen lag for fast action sports or action movies, games. Over all, very satisfy.

Real, Solid 4k From Any (Capable) Source
on June 3, 2014

If you are like me and have been holding off on getting a 4K TV so you don't get an early, broken implementation of the standard, this is the offering for you. It's a premium set with a justifiable price, unlike some $10,000+ "halo" products with questionable specification improvements.
This TV has perfect room presence. The minimal stand and muted bezel get out of the way and let the content speak for itself. Setup was extremely, fascinatingly simple. The base legs accommodates both wide and short stands, and can be inserted either at the far edges or towards the middle. Stability seems great; I have bumped the screen getting audio connections set up in the entertainment center and there was no wobble.
Image quality is fantastic. More than one person asked if standard 1080p content was displaying in 3D because the image depth and frame rate correction really boost the picture. And this is not the annoying, obvious, super-soap-opera frame interpolation of the last few years. This is the real deal. I have been using multiple 4k computer monitors and sophisticated video frame rate correction software for some time now, so I'm familiar with what real UHD content at real UHD bandwidths looks like. This is not smoke and mirror backlight flashing coupled with a framerate computer users have avoided for more than a decade--this is a new level of video quality.
You will have to chase your guests from the house. The very same day I set up this TV in my house I had guests on my couch long after I had to leave for business meetings. They were enraptured by this TV. You may want to buy less comfortable seating for your home theater to discourage overnighters, and I strongly recommend not stocking any snacks--they will disappear.

Amazing TV

Amazing TV. Incredible picture.
While I can't say that I can tell a difference in a 4K vs 1080p image from my sofa, up close, the 4K images look like you are looking out a window. It's truly incredible.
The features are quite nice and robust as well.
The only downside is that if you choose to use the TV speakers, the optical output is only in 2 channel PCM. If you want to get DD out of the optical, you have to set the TV not to use its own speakers and you are forced to always use your audio system. But that is somewhat minor.
Overall I am very pleased after 3 days.

It gets better.

The TV when it is first out of the box is not set correctly. The thing is you need to let the TV to burn in for about 2 weeks before adjusting. This gives the components time to work and the picture gets better every day. the picture is OK but until 4K content get more accessible you don't get the best picture possible but you are ready for the future. The 3D Is alright but I have seen better, but 3D is just a fad and in 3 yrs will fad out. Vizio has already done this and others will follow.

The range of colors makes images look 3 dimensional. There is depth to the images.

Didn't think it could get any better!

We previously purchased a Sony XBR55HX950 in Feb 2013 and we were thrilled with the picture. About two months ago it developed black horizontal lines running across the screen - devastating after realizing we had not purchased the extended plan. Happy to find out after contacting Sony it was still covered under our warranty! For a little extra money we upgraded the size to 65 inch.. we were blown away with the 4K technology and couldn't be happier!
