Terrific TV but difficult set-up

This is a terrific television with many capabilities that are at first hard to access and difficult to set up. However, the technical assistance in both areas was very helpful when I called the support number, so I encourage anyone with problems to call the 800 support number. The quality of the picture is unbeatable, and as more 4K movies and television shows come out -- as well as 3D -- it will be the standard against with to measure others.

Best Purchase Ever

The hbr850b is the best choice for a 55" TV we've ever made. The sound and picture quality are more than just amazing. It changed the way we watched TV. It's so much more realistic and enjoyable.

5 stars for Sony. Zero for Opera browser

Impressive visual experience as expected of Sony. Easy set up and linking with Sony AV receiver for enhanced audio.
Opera web browser is a huge let down which ruins Sony's reputation. Opera is very clunky, not user friendly, frequently unresponsive to the remote, overly slow with frequent freezing, limited to only 3 tabs, incompatible with some websites and crashing constantly (such as Bloomberg TV). Bloomberg TV has replied to my emails but still have to hear back from Sony. This is a web connected smart TV thus issues like these need to be fixed and it would be helpful to have a native app.
Also was looking forward to try wifi mirroring with Apple products for this model since previous ones specifically were labeled NFC and AV receiver is capable of Airplay (audio only) but realized this was still not possible. Apple TV is an option but counterintuitive and redundant.
Lastly, there is no way to organize USB flash drive files on the Media Server.
If you want a 4K TV and not really use the other features, this is for you.

I have had the TV for about 3 weeks and am very happy with the purchase.
With football and hockey starting soon I will take advantage of the upscaled picture.

Good but no cigar

Color is wonderful , sound is better then most. The one thing that should be upgraded is frame dimming too the much better local dimming. Samsung and LG both offer less expensive 4K sets with local dimming.
