Got my first Sony TV 4 years ago and then a Sony Blu-Ray for my bed room and was happy with the quality and the way the equipment communicated with each other.
My previous experience was the primary reason I chose the Sony brand again when it was time for a new 4K TV and Blu-Ray player for our home theater.
Just had a Geek Squad technician calibrate the TV and create custom settings that are incredible. The technician commented on the quality of the Sony TV and the controls that are available for calibrations.

Great picture but 1 flaw thus far.

Everything seems great so far, except that it takes too long to power on. Also, if you are connected wirelessly, if you try to go to the home screen before it has turned on "all the way" the TV will forget its network connection and have to be reset.
I have never seen STANDARD definition look so good. WOW! Colors sharp, crisp, vivid. So many features, 3D experience is amazing. Ability to turn anything into 3D. I have all Sony products so it wasn't hard for me to swoop this up. Screen mirroring from my ANDROID devices is a great experience. I can stream my PS3/ PS4 right from the TV. Cant wait for more 4k content. If your gonna get 4k - SONY ALL THE WAY!!!!

I dont like to have to have a receiver to be able to have decent sound. I live in a small condo and souldn't need a sound system.

Not up tp Sony's usual standards

I've always owned Sony TVs, and always loved the natural, yet vibrant colors. I have owned 6. The colors are just not as natural as past Sony's, even my 46" LCD. Despite various attempts to adjust the colors, the skin tones are too blue in neutral and cool, and too green with either of the warm settings. Past Sony's never needed adjustment from the way they were shipped and the colors were wonderful.
The 3D is neat, especially the unexpected "simulated 3D", but there is some ghosting and blurriness in 3D operation. I'm hoping some firmware updates can help with these issues going forward. One can always hope.

Hello Ted1948!, Thank you for letting us know the issue you are having with your television. Have your contacted Sony regarding this ? if not please send us an email at socialsupport@am.sony.com with your contact information, model , serial number and a description of the problem you are having.
We would like to also suggest to follow the steps available through the following links:
As a functional TV it is first class, but when mounted on the two stands/legs provided it looks like a cheap TV. I took the stand and loudspeaker from my previous Hitachi 50" Plasma set and mounted these on the SONY unit... It really does now look like a quality designed unit...
