Mirror Like Picture Quality

I have a basic OTA all channel antenna , Stereo and 2 DVDs. One with a HDMI cable.
I receive about 50 -- 480i, 720p, and 1080i channels, no analog, and they all look like you were looking in a mirror quality.
I can’t compare the 4K with the 1080i, but it is the sharpest picture I have seen.
I also get a full TV program directory that tells me things I never thought of, 24-14, but you need to be connected to the internet.
Also the DISPLAY button tells you about the channel you are watching, but not the time slot or if it is a re-run or the upcoming program.
I counted something like 330 APPS. Most are probably subscription. Haven’t gotten much past YouTube.
DISLIKES:
The 0-9 buttons DO NOT jump automatically to digital channels. Nor does it have any buttons for favorite channels. The colored Y-B-R-G buttons are NOT favorite channel buttons.
It does not have a FREEZE button to freeze live pictures (like reading credits).
Picture mode (Standard, Vivid, Custom ) Screen (Normal, Full, Zoom, etc) Screen Select (General, Cinema, Sport, etc) settings are buried deep in the Settings display if you can find it. As are the sound and many more settings.
It took a few days to discover how to hook up my stereo through the earphone jacks the way I wanted them. If you are afraid of making adjustments it might be a good idea to have the Geek Squad set up your settings. Although except for a few tweaks here and there (if you can find them), most everything is factory set OK.
I haven’t tried SOCIAL VIEW (Skype) or FOOTBALL. Only 3-D and 4K from YouTube. Tons of stuff if you really have the time and imagination to deal with it. I think sound quality is what you want to make it.

The 4K, DISPLAY and TV program guide were what sold me, but the lack of favorites buttons, no auto jump 0-9 to digital channels and FREEZE frame for live broadcast would have given me second thoughts if I had known about them. Instead of more APPS on the updates, fix those. I have yet to discover everything.

3D BAD

Purchased this TV for the 3D. The 4K is excellent but the 3d Playback is awfull. Looking with the screen at center of eye location, the background of the 3D is out of sync on the top 25 Percent of the screen. If you raise up and look at the top one third of the screen it is in sync and the bottom of the screen is out of sync. There is no happy medium. I have contacted Sony and they have not called me back as if they don't care. I can not recommend this to any one looking for a 3D TV

Very happy with tv. Wish stores wouldn't use a usb stick with 4k content to show quality of picture, since very little 4k content is available. It's very misleading to see how awesome it looks in stores and not at home. Can't blame Sony that no cable or satellite companies broadcasts in 4k. Still picture is better than 1080p tvs. Hopefully in future more content will be available.

Iam enjoying with this tv. Last holiday time I changed two samsung smart TVs due to the quality and app crash. Than I decided to go for this 4k tv and this product is owesome and I recommend any buyer to buy with out having any second taught.

Bright light is not good

I was disappointed when at Iguazu Falls, Argentina trying to capture the Falls in daylight - totally saturated the camera - even with ND3. The main goal of my photography was to capture butterflies - but again in sunlight the camera was saturated and no matter what i did i could not take video. Not sure if it was me or the camera - or how to fix it.

I have this television just over 2 weeks and am delighted with the picture and sound quality. My other TV's do not come close to the clarity and detail of the picture on my Sony X850B. Well done Sony.
