Excellent Value

Another outstanding product by one of the worlds most reputable brands. My PC is used primarily for this TV and the quality is amazing, it is easily able to keep up with the refresh rates required for gaming. When used as a media TV the wide viewing angle allows for my friends to come over and watch movies/tv without any hassle. The 3D component may require some fixes but i rarely use it anyway.
I am extremely impressed with this TV and the value you get for the price is unbeatable. A very sexy looking panel with extremely thin bezel that pushes the screen right to the edges and an overall thin design. The stand is very minimal and you can barely notice it.
Sony, you have outdone yourself with this one!
Pros: Ease of Use, Quality, Value for Money, Design, Durability

My first Sony TV. Wow, it's thin, the border is almost non-existent and so simple to connect to wifi and update. I didn't have to read the manual as it was straight forward to connect and setup. The picture quality is superb and the sound is loud. Best Quality and Value for money!

Great versatile TV

I acquired this TV to replace a Sony TV I previously had. I am impressed with the features and capabilities of this TV. The colours are vivid, black are black and the TV itself looks elegant.
One of the outstanding features that I love is the ability to plug in a USB and setup TV recording. I used to do this via the Play TV unit attached to my PS3 but can now record straight from TV. There are also endless internet driven features including social media integration, local catch up TV and more.
Very happy with this model.

Great TV – BAD wall mount option!!!!!
on November 16, 2014

Okay so the TV itself is great value.
My problem came up when I went to wall mount it on my previous wall mount. Sony have decided that they are to be the only (or one of the only) TVs that have a different wall mount system.
The brackets are flimsy I didn't feel confident with it on the wall.
The brackets are 25cm apart, all wall studs in Australia are 45cm apart which means it's much harder to setup on a wall than normal wall mount brackets.
It's also about 5cm further out from the wall than standard wall mounts so it isn't as refined.
All in all I wouldn't buy this TV if I had my choice again for this reason. It's a great TV but just too painful to mount on a wall compared to all my previous TVs.
Pros: Ease of Use, Quality, Value for Money

Very Disappointed!

Tv is ok for gaming and movies but isn't good for sports at all I'm getting severe motion blur doesn't matter if I change the setting to cinema mode or impulse mode it doesn't get rid of it and it's driving me crazy! Picture quality isn't as good as I thought it would be, in fact it's not even close. The features aren't that good either, it lags quite a lot even when u turn the tv on you have to wait a few seconds just to turn the volume up and can't bring up the menu without a pop up saying please wait! And another thing I'm not happy about is the hdmi ports not the one on the side but the 3 that are located near the middle but underneath very awkward spot and find it very difficult when trying to plug a hdmi cable in without being able to actually see those 3 hdmi ports very hard to get access to! The only thing I really like about this tv is the design!

Cons: Quality, Features

I like the product, however....

I prefer to buy electronic products with Sony brand. However, this time, I bought a Bravia TV, KDL50W00B last 19 July 2014 and lasted only for 20 months and is now broken. The screen panel no longer shows pictures but vertical lines of different colours.
Sony support referred me to SS Electrics P/L and confirm this problem who charged me $155 for the visit. I was wondering whether to have the TV repaired or just buy a new one. Despite of this experience, I still prefer to buy a Sony TV.

Breathtakingly mediocre

The picture is fine, the sound is acceptable, but there's nothing smart about this TV.
The YouTube app stutters and hiccups (despite a strong WiFi signal and a super-fast NBN connection), the ABC iView and Netflix apps frequently crash, and the media player can't play half the formats that I give it.
Every press of the remote control incurs an annoying delay, and some features are virtually unusable due to their lagginess. Even basic channel changing can be incredibly frustrating due to the device's lack of responsiveness. My brother-in-law has a cheaper LG TV that is 3 years older than this and every interaction with it is instantaneous. How Sony gets away with releasing products built on such an obviously inferior and underpowered platform (both hardware and software) is beyond me.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
