GE REFRIGERATOR

All my appliances in my home are GE. I've also used a GE freezer in the past and was very happy with it. The refrigerator was just delivered today and seems to be cooling perfectly. I plan on having this refrigerator for as long as I live in this house.
I would recommend this to a friend!

PERFECT SIZE, LOOKS SLEEK, GREAT FEATURES

Finally, no filtered water pitcher. Turbo chill helps when adding groceries. Sleek look and easy controls. Love the alarm feature with grandchildren around. Shelves are easy to configure and organize.

Inefficient Water dispenser

We've had this fridge for over 9 months. No other complaints other than the water dispenser. It is hard to push for long times to fill large cups/coffee pot. My mother in law has the same feature, but her button to push is softer/easier and dispenses a faster/larger in diameter flow. Her fridge is a different brand. If you are big water drinkers, I would not recommend.

Water flow should come out quickly and easily. The red filter light will start blinking to tell you that you need to replace the filter soon. Generally, we recommend replacing the water filter every six months for the best performance.

My review or the GE refrigerator

It's such an upgrade from my old GE but I have 2 HUGE problems. First the freezer is smaller than my last one and 2nd, because the freezer is smaller my old 1994 GE refrigerator, the frozen foods I plan to cook will defrost and its hard to remove the glass shelves and clean when they leak. In fact. I haven't figured out how to clean them without fully removing the shelves.

Not what I thought it was

as a 33" it was recommended by CR. We have had it for two months. It works as a "Refrig" should, however, I can not remember if we have ever had a refrigerator as noisy as this. The fans are annoying.

GE French Door Refrigerator

This refrigerator is a low end quality appliance. It is simply functional. What I do not like about it is the freezer door. It is not encased, it is simply two drawers that slide out and the frozen items in the top drawer can easily fall out because this freezer does not have adequate storage space for all my freezer items. I was limited on the amount of space in my kitchen and this refrigerator was purchased mainly because it has the icemaker in the freezer compartment and not the refrigerator compartment. This was a re-purchase for me as I had a Samsung with the icemaker in the refrigerator compartment and it had alot of issues. I was limited on the availability of refrigerators with the icemaker in the freezer compartment and width size of the refrigerator.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Watch Out for the Doors!

I was pretty disappointed in this refrigerator. The worst part was the doors! They BANG open, BANG closed, or they don't close at all. And when you open them, all the stuff on the shelves in the doors rattles around and/or falls over. It was such a serious problem, I returned the refrigerator! The drawer in the freezer compartment didn't slide very easily and had to be lifted up to slide back. The water dispenser inside the refrigerator has a button that must be pushed in order to dispense water - a lever you press with the glass would make a lot more sense, otherwise it's a 2-handed operation. The shelves inside could not be moved up or down much and to accommodate tall items (an iced tea pitcher for instance) the solution was a shelf that was split so you could push half of it back and then the tall things fit on the front half of their shelf. But you lose 1/2 of a shelf doing that. Very inconvenient. The only thing I liked was that it had a great ice maker in a convenient location, it made a lot of ice and shut itself off when it was full, etc.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
