Second day, doing great

Bought this unit to replace 18 year old GE refrigerator. This featured everything we wanted--Large capacity to fit our space, NO ice or water thru the door, water filter inside unit, no need to move box to replace. If this lasts 1/2 as long as old one, we'll be happy. Extremely quiet, only noise is first couple batches of ice cubes hitting empty tray. French doors are new to us, really opens up the box. Old box was also 25 ft.--but this new one holds much more. Led lights, wow, you can see everything.
I would recommend this to a friend!

So far, not so good

The refrigerator is freezing my lettuce and other vegetables frozen solid. I have it set @ 43 degrees. Clearly the refrigerator is defective. I have only had it a few months.

An epic fail

Considering I've had it less than 2 months and it ALREADY HAS TO BE COMPLETELY REPLACED...I cannot in good conscience give a good review. Compressor, sealing, defrosting, cooling issues...How can one unit be so poor at so many things? Honestly, it might very well be the worst appliance I've ever owned. I have NEVER had good luck with GE fridges (the last one died 6 days out of warranty) but this was rated so well I had hoped the quality control issues that had plagued this company were in the past. Guess not . Deeply regret purchasing this.

We bought our fridge three weeks ago and now it’s not working. When we first got it it was running about two degrees off of what it was set at in the fridge portion three weeks later with the fridge set at 34 it’s 50 while the freezer is set at zero it’s now 38. Hopefully we can get this fixed but I don’t feel good about this fridge now.

Horrible sound

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So disappointed in this refrigerator. It makes the most awful high-pitched sound about half of the day. We can no longer eat at the kitchen table or spend any quiet time in the adjoining room. I have a call into the dealer where I bought it to have a repairman come out, but I sadly see there are several other complaints about this noise. Almost sounds like someone is running a vacuum in the next room, but for 12 hours every day. I do not recommend for this reason alone.

MAJOR DESIGN FLAW--RETURNING AFTER 5 DAYS

Waited three weeks to have this unit shipped and delivered, because that's how much we wanted to have this specific unit! Sad to say after only five days we're returning it due to a major design flaw that no longer allows us to trust that the unit will keep our food cold and frozen. The temperature settings bar on the top of the fridge is flush with the edge, and each time the door is closed it changes the temp setting! We woke up yesterday morning to find the setting was actually changed to "OFF" and food in our freezer was thawed. Do a search for this model on YouTube for my video showing the issue and see for yourself.

Unbelievable amount of space

I love how deep this model is and the drawer that is as wide as the frig. I can put a pizza pox in it. Yay! There is so much extra condiment and drink storage in the doors. Best refrigerator I've ever had.

Chose this model because my wife likes the finish and GE was highly rated by a consumer magazine. But I really wish I hadn't.
First thing I noticed was a rattle when the doors are closed. It comes and goes but is mostly present, enough to make it sound like it has a problem. It goes away if the doors are opened, or if you push on the fridge in certain spots.
A bigger problem is that it just doesn't get cold enough. I noticed that drinks seemed warm, so I go a fridge thermometer. With the control set at the recommended 37 degrees, the inside of the fridge was in the mid 40s. I set the control as low as it can go (34 degrees) and the inside is around 40.
Outside of the rattle and being too warm this is a nice fridge. Really big, nice drawers, like the water filter, etc.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
