The refrigerator is an excellent purchase. If I had to give any suggestions, it would be ideal to open one door to access of the shelves.

Does the job but has shortcomings

Capacity seems less then stated. Our prior frig had almost identical cu ft but we can't get everything from the prior frig into the new GE frig.
Bottom selves on doors are almost useless because of their position underneath the shelves above them
The on/off switch for the ice maker is almost impossible to see and turn on and off. So can't even see which way is on or off.
However, the lighting in both the frig and the freezer is great.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great overall design but not perfect.

Design is overall good. Frig capacity and layout are good except the large draw at the bottom. You havre to have both doors open to access the drawer. The freezer design is poor. The shelf should not come out when you open the door, and it makes much noise, and we have to push it back all of the time. Last complaint is the when the compressor is running and at other times it make to much noise.

White pieces of plastic in the ice

This GE refrigerator is ok. The water dispenser is inside of the refrigerator so to fill anything you have to stand inside the refrigerator with the doors open!!! So much for energy efficient.
Also, there is something wrong with the ice, water dispenser or the water filter. My ice water ALWAYS has white floaters in it. The white pieces look like very thin white plastic. I realize that all Americans are victims of greedy big business and them polluting our water but I don't want extra pollution coming out of my refrigerator.

I had a popular competitive brand refrigerator that only lasted five years! I did more research than most would put into obtaining a new one and thE GE brand stood out among all others from both customer and appliance repair folks alike!
I purchased a French Door, bottom freezer and couldn't be happier! Attractive and all the right features made it the smartest

Nice Fridge

Very nice fridge. Only criticism I have is that it’s a little loud when it kicks on and the water pressure coming from the water dispenser is slow so it takes a long time to fill up a glass. It’s not an issue of the pressure going to the line because I’ve checked that

I’m on my 2nd one of these refrigerators since Labor Day. BOTH have been broken! The 1st never cooled at all. The 2nd did for a while then the freezer started warming and everything melted/defrosted. Their repair people take a week to schedule. It was faster to return it and buy a new one! I don’t know if we’re just “lucky” of if this is the quality of their products and services. I just want my old fridge back!
