Great fridge, but haven’t had it long

I replaced another brand of fridge for this GE. The interior of this GE seems more sturdy than my old one. I love that it has the temperature display as I didn’t have that before. Loving it so far!

Fridge has nice layout other than water dispenser

Water dispenser is awkward to use as it requires two hands to use it. Also, dispenser tube is to close to fridge wall and dribbles when trying to fill thicker walled containers.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Fit and Finish

Refrigerator design is elegant and fit and finish top notch. Cold air immediate could be felt flowing into the refrigerator. Only drawback is that there was not a covered door shelf. My previous GE refrigerator included one shelf that had a hinged cover on one door shelf. This was useful for my butter and cheese. I am disappointed this model doesn’t include that feature.

Possibly a Lemon

I've had this refrigerator for less than 6 months and I've already had 4 service calls and I'm waiting on a 5th. They've replaced a fan but it's still incredibly loud and the freezer is currently frozen over. The loud vibrating noise happens at infrequent times; the good news is it isn't all the time, the bad news is when it makes that noise I can hear it in my bedroom at night. The GE service guys are really nice and scheduling is pretty straight forward but they can't seem to fix the lemon of a refrigerator and they won't replace it.
If the noise and broken frozen freezer aren't a problem for you then the interior of the refrigerator might be: the shelves are terribly spaced without much leeway; you can't fit a half gallon of milk in the fridge without moving the self above up and it renders that shelf obsolete bc it's such tight space. The drawers aren't engineered well to take advantage of space - they're small with unusable space between the drawers.
Do yourself a favor and get an LG; knowing the compressor will break in 5 years but at least you'll get 5 years without any trouble and you'll get more use of the interior space.
