Perfect For Us

Replaced our older and larger GE refrigerator with this model recenlty and it is perfect for us as empty nesters but also gives us the room, when needed, when any of the children or grandchildren visit and we need extra the extra food.

A rare lemon

I would assume this is a rare experience, but our compressor quit after 3 WEEKS of the brand new refrigerator arriving. It took lots of time on the phone with a rep from GE, quite a few emails, but we DID get a full refund check in the mail after finding no service tech to repair and being not cost-effective to replace the whole compressor unit. Really, it was our fault for purchasing online instead of from a local store who could supply their own repair service. We purchased the same one again - locally this time - and have had no problems with it. Giving this 3 stars because, after time, we did receive a refund and we are hoping we just got the rare lemon of GE.

Great appliance

We have only had this refrigerator for a few weeks but we already love it. Everything works perfectly and the fridge operates very quietly. The bottom freezer is a big improvement over the old designs.

In store purchase was extremely simple and easy. Salesperson understood our need and was very knowledgeable. Financing was available with no interest for 6 months (a plus on a limited income).

We purchased this refrigerator when moving to a different house and we haven't been very happy with it. There are many places in the refrigerator part that the food continues to freeze up. The temp setting is normal, so not sure why this continues to happen. We've had to throw out a lot of food that spoiled as a result of freezing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If the refrigerator temperature sensor is blocked, it may not be able to correctly sense the temperature to properly control cooling in the fresh food compartment. The temperature sensor is located in the fresh food compartment on the ceiling above the top shelf. The sensor looks like a dome with slats in it. For models with the dome-shaped sensor on the ceiling, move items so that there is a 6 inch air clearance around the sensor. Broke just weeks after purchase

I was so excited about my brand new GE refrigerator. The lay out inside was great. It is so easy to see everything. I like the drawers and the shelf that is adjustable by sliding it back. The freezer is roomy, easy to stay organized and makes plenty of ice. So I was disappointed when a few weeks after purchase the compressor broke and it has been weeks waiting to get it fixed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very good value with a lot of shelf space. Quiet motor and fast ice maker. Two removable bins in the freezer are very convenient. It even has a filtered water dispenser inside
