I have always had good luck with GE appliances. I read other great reviews on this refrigerator prior to buying it. I have only had this unit for two weeks, but so far it is great as I had expected. Lots of room, and the inside water dispenser is nice.

I canceled another order and waited 2 months for this refrigerator because of the features. I purchased the white color because my kitchen has white cabinets and it matches my GE microwave perfectly! It really looks classy. I like the split shelfing system (though you can't stagger them) and the quick space shelf that allows me to put tall items in. We actually have the shelf retracted at all times with milk & juice in front, yet still have that short shelf in the back for can drinks, big food jars, etc.
I like having the option to dispense cold water when needed even though we drink room temperature water most of the time. I only wish it was a one hand operation. It would've been nice to push in with your glass to dispense and let go when you want it to stop. With this model, you have to use one hand to hold the glass and the other hold the button down to dispense until you want it to stop. This design to me is a bit dated. Good thing we don't use it often enough to be a problem.
I also purchased this model because of the ice maker which my other fairly new fridge didn't have when we moved into this new house. After receiving the fridge, I realized how much space that took away from the freezer storage space. We were limited with the size of the fridge because the space only allowed for a fridge that was 33" wide. The freezer deffinitely could be designed better. I've already found some small things that fell out and got underneath the fridge a few days later because there are wide hollow spaces around the outside of the freezer bin. Those are lost spaces that could be used as freezer spaces. I didn't understand why this fridge was 2" deeper than others with the same width and cf. I'm 5' tall and my arms can only reach so far back on the top shelf. We had the space to compensate the depth, so overall it was a good decision for what we needed and what we can afford. We've only had this fridge for a month and a half and so far no problems with performance.

Great looking French Door Fridge

Got this delivered a few weeks back and am pleased so far. Couple things I ran into though: For the install, they would not hook up my fridge to the copper line, so they made me buy the hose. The one that I got was way too short to reach, so I ended up having to order another 20 foot hose. No big deal. I hooked it up, and followed the instructions to get the air out of the line, draining out a good amount of water to clear out any debris or dust or overall nastiness of the hose/waterfilter, etc.
After running the water for the noted amount of time, everything seemed good to go. So I let the fridge get down to temp, the ice maker to kick in, and the next day - I went to use the water and nothing came out. After reading the manual, it said to look at the display for the waterfilter. I did, and it showed "LEAK" - so I opened up the waterfilter, and some water came out. I completely removed the filter, dried it off, inspected the housing it sits in for any breaks or issues, and didn't see anything. I reinstalled the filter and it still showed the error.
I then unplugged the fridge to see if that would do anything, and it did not. In any case I ended up calling the big box store I bought it from, and the lady said since it was 3 days since I had the unit, they would not be able to help and reach out to GE. Frustrated, I waited a day and planned to call them later in the week.
Low and behold, 2 days later the error went away, water worked once again, and the ice maker kicked out some ice. Not sure exactly what was wrong, but it did correct itself over time. I assume there are sensors in there that may had gotten wet or something, and until it dried, would continue to throw the code.
Either way, I thought i would share this incase someone else runs into a similar issue. Other than that, I have no complaints about this fridge. It is much deeper than our last, more freezer space, and an overall quality feel and appearance. For the money, and compared to many others I researched, this was a really solid choice.
I am hopeful to get 5+ years out of it.

Our fridge is now entering its 6th year with us so this a long term review. It has had exactly ZERO. Issues since instillation.
Would not hesitate to recommend it for residential use.

Reviews are hard these days. Never sure what you are reading is what you are looking to purchase. Item number is above. This is a CR recommended item. Came packed in tight with tape holding everything. Nothing broken. The french door style is great. First try with the water on the inside wall. Other than having the door open while filling your glass/cup, works great and leaves the door with extra interior room. Enjoying two crisper drawers and the third wide drawer under the crispers the entire width. Seems like it holds a lot of food. A little trouble getting it level to keep the doors from going astray. Drawer in the freezer is handy. Ice maker pumps out the ice. We were told also that they couldn't mess with the copper line. It does make some strange noises.
I would recommend this to a friend!
