Bought this refrigerator in September 2021. It's the loudest refrigerator we ever purchased. Repairman came twice. The second time he replaced the fan kit and a week later, the same problem!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Newer refrigerator models do sound a bit different than older models because of additional features and newer technology. These sounds can include noise from the compressor, fan noises, water sounds, etc. If it might be helpful, we have a description of normal noises the model may make on page 42 of the Use and Care manual: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-1000472-2.pdf .
If you believe the sounds you’re hearing are out of the ordinary and service may be needed again, that department can be reached at 1-800-432-2737. A technician would be glad to examine your refrigerator. We hope this concern over noise is resolved for you soon, so you can enjoy the refrigerator without further inconvenience. It changed our life!

This is a great refrigerator. Having the freezer on the bottom makes using the refrigerator portion so much more convenient. We have a narrow kitchen so the French Doors make navigating around our kitchen so much easier. At first we concerned by the size of the vegetable bins compared to our previous frig, but we were proven wrong.

GE refrigerator

This refrigerator works great, the ice maker works very well, producing lots of ice, the freezer is working great with minimum frosting, and the refrigerator itself has got lots of room. The only thing we complain about is that the compressor itself, when on, makes a lot of noise.
I would recommend this to a friend!
