Fantastic fridge

Beautiful stainless steel. Shelves provide a ton of space and organization possibilities. Very easy to remove and clean. Lower freezer is huge, makes a ton of ice. Perk is the filtered water on the inside. No need for an in the door system that takes up space. Love love love this fridge!

Not enough versatility, no sliding shelves

One bad thing about not being able to see appliances in person is that you miss certain things. One of the things I missed is 1) the quality of the shelving and bins in this fridge is less than the (oops--not allowed to mention brand--but not GE) I just replaced, 2) shelves do not slide, which I thought was almost standard these days, especially for this price point, and 3) there is not a lot of room to adjust the shelves and bins.
My last fridge did not have to be replaced yet, but since my stove died, I decided to change over to stainless steel and replaced the fridge earlier than I might have. I was not able to view this fridge in person and bought it from online pics and reviews. The first thing I noticed was that the shelves and bins were poorer quality than the fridge I replaced, so I am anticipating that I will be replacing more or one of them during this refrigerator's lifetime.
The second thing I noticed is that where I can place the bins and shelves is much more limited than the Kenmore I am replacing. There are only a few places where they can go whereas my last one had multiple places. This was great, especially around the holidays.
I was also surprised that there were no sliding shelves! I mistakenly believed that these had become standard on all fridges except for the cheapest ones, and this is decidedly not a cheap refrigerator.
I also found that the bottom drawer does not open smoothly (probably the first thing I will be replacing because I have to pull harder on it to open and it is very cheap plastic).
I know the prices of appliances have increased a lot in the last 10 years, but I paid 35% of the cost of this refrigerator for a much better one.
I never had the ice maker hooked up because I don't have a water line for that, so don't know how that works.
Of course, the fridge keeps things cold and the freezer keeps things frozen. That is their purpose. So, when one goes to buy a fridge, one looks at the types of things I discussed above in order to make sure it adapts to your needs and will be long-lasting. I am greatly disappointed in GE for not providing these things in this price point. And, if these things are important to you, I would look for another refrigerator.

Exactly what we needed!

Our new home had a narrow refrigerator opening and we wanted a French-door style. The choices were limited in this width. The GE was by far the best combination of value and features. The only minor complaint is the lack of water and ice in the door. Highly recommended.

Clean design

We love the uncomplicated look and function of this refrigerator. The large ice tray is a extra bonus and the door alarm is handy.
It is taking some time to get used to the storage in the doors, they are heavy and swing open fast and hard. The freezer drawers get stuck together ,not because of over filling, so you have to push the top one back in to get to the bottom.
