Nightmare Purchase

I have never been more frustrated or disappointed in an appliance purchase. We have always purchased GE appliances for our kitchen but this purchase was a nightmare. The first refrigerator delivered was scratched and dented and we had to wait for a new one. Being without a fridge and unable to cook for weeks is incredibly difficult and expensive. I understand that first issue was on the retailer but, even when we received our replacement, it didn’t (and still doesn’t) work. The water dispenser and ice maker have never worked. We had an approved service tech come out. He was nice but said it was an issue with the water line. We had a master plumber come out to confirm the water line is functioning properly and the water dispenser and ice maker still don’t work. It’s incredibly irritating to pay as much as we did for a new GE item that still doesn’t work. I’m very disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this refrigerator four years ago and the freezer not freezing. I have done some research and there are some recalls with certain models. I have done everything under the sun such as cleaning the coils and nothing works. Come on GE stop making poor quality products and do the right thing - replace customers like me with a brand new and different model refrigerator. I refuse to buy any GE products ever again and I will make sure my family and friends are aware of this issue.

Great color and size

Replaced a 21 year old top freezer with the 33 inch french door GE. Love the water dispenser inside panel instead of on the door. Digital temp controls. Loads of space with a deli drawer and 2 big fruit and vegetable drawers. Only issue is cannot lock down the rollers. When opening the freezer,have to hold the top doors to prevent rolling forward

Noise driving me crazy

The noise is constant. Had numerous service calls. Fan was replaced, circuit board replaced but noise is still constant. Was told the fans will run all the time. I would rather have my old unit back that was quiet.

Hello. The refrigerators today do create many sounds and we understand the frustration this may cause you. It appears the service technicians have done all they can do about the noise. We are sure if anything else could be done then the technician would have done that. The fan runs to maintain the temperature in both sections. We appreciate your feedback. Many new appliances will produce sounds that you are not use to. Modern refrigerators have new features and are more energy efficient than older ones. The foam insulation used in new models has excellent insulating capabilities and is very energy efficient however it is not as sound absorbent as previously used fiberglass insulation.
Hard surfaces such as ceramic tile, vinyl or hard wood floors, walls and kitchen cabinets may make these operating sounds more noticeable. As a result, certain sounds may be unfamiliar on a new refrigerator at first. These sounds are normal and are usually an indication that the refrigerator is operating properly. Hope this helps. Love the ice maker

Love all the features. Fruit drawer separate from the veggie drawer. I converted the cheese drawer to a beer drawer. Perfect for bottles. Love the slate color. Got matching dishwasher, stove, and microwave

My Walk In Refrigerator

Much searching and consideration went into the choice of this unit. We're very happy with our purchase. It's easy to see what you have and where, the clear bins and ample light make it very easy to find things. The ability to have all the salad fixings in one crisper drawer, and her dressing in the same door side is an added plus. When she wants to "browse" the fridge, she refers to it as "My Walk In Refrigerator". We have as much stored as in our old refrigerator, and have much more space available to use. I like the freezer compartment and being able to stack our food per category. The ice maker is great, and having a cold water dispenser in the refrigerator side wall is a nice feature.

This refrigerator is only 2 1/2 years old. It has had 4 service calls already and. I am waiting part to come in for another device call. It makes so much noise we can’t hear each talk. This thing is a piece of junk.
