Nice for the price!

This is a great refrigerator! I love the adjustable shelf but I wish there were two adjustable shelves. It would make space a little more versatile. The door shelves are nice and roomy but the door shelf above the bottom one sticks out over it so it is hard to reach into or see what is in the bottom door shelf (on both sides). Freezer with ice maker is great but when opening/closing freezer the ice cubes fall out of the container occasionally and somehow fall behind the freezer so the cubes are trapped underneath the refrigerator. Also, the freezer handle, if you're not careful, will slide off, which is annoying but fixable by sliding it back into place. I have owned this refrigerator for about 4 months and am still happy with my purchase.

Broke in 27 months ???

Its laid out nice, and worked good. But quit after only 27 months ? Repairman said it would cost more to repair than its worth, and to buy a better quality ?

I tried unsucessfully to get the delivery crew to come pick up the unit 15 minutes after they dropped it off! We picked out this refridgerator because our 15 year old model was getting loud. We plugged in the new GE and OMG it is twice as loud as the one we replaced for the very reasosn of the noise. I am not sure what to do with this. We did not install the water for the ice maker, just plugged it in. Also, on occasion (keep in mind its only been installed for three hours now) there is a loud noise like somthing is hitting the fan, sounding like a stick in the spokes of a bike or a buzzing alarm.
It is a nice looking and functional design. However, I dont want it.
Please advise????

While our refrigerators are designed with as quiet of a performance as possible, newer refrigerators have more features and use more advanced technology than older models. For example, the new high efficiency compressor may run faster and longer, and you may hear a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound. You may also hear the fans spinning or changing speeds to maintain correct temperatures and provide optimal cooling and energy savings. The icemaker or water valve will make sounds when it is trying to fill with water, which would occur approximately every 1 hour to 1-1/2 hours.
