would not buy again

Things I do like are the door alarm, and the fingerprint resistant finish.
Things I don't like are more a comment on the style than the GE brand. As this is a narrower fridge (33in), the top double doors are too small to just open one and have good access, so a single top door would have been a better choice. The vegetable drawers are not deep enough or wide enough to hold much produce. I do not like the bottom freezer. It is like a big box, hard to pack, and hard to find what I want as it is usually on the bottom. The number and height of the shelves in the fridge are also limited due to having the freezer on the bottom.
I gave up the outside ice and water to gain more volume in the fridge. This was a big mistake. I find I drink much less water due to it being less accessible. There is an inside filtered water outlet, but it is hard to press and can definitely not be done single handed as with an exterior outlet. plus it wastes power by having to open the fridge door while filling a cup.
I would not recommend this fridge style for someone who uses a lot of fresh produce, frozen stuff, does much cooking and really uses the fridge. Would be fine for one who eats out a lot, or buys things on an as immediately needed basis.

Compared to our old Sears french door refrigerator/freezer, the GE leaves a lot to be desired. The water dispenser is hard to use. The full-width temp controlled door and sliding tray in freezer wobble and make a lot of noise.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very Roomy and Configurable

I bought this almost 6 months ago, and have been very happy with it. I was limited on width and height for the refrigerator and GE offered the largest one that would fit in my space.

It was exactly what we wanted and I love it. On occasion the top shelf in the back will freeze food but it can be managed.

bad interior layout options for kids

Easy to use and looks nice. Only issue....SHELF's! There aren't that many shelf configuration options- 4 spots on each side, 2 shelf's per side. You can't move the shelf's from one side of the fridge to the other, they only work on the one side due to attachment setup. A Sprite bottle won't fit under a interior shelf, even when adjusted, the only way to fit it is to take out a shelf completely, put it in the door, use the adjustable shelf that shortens it's depth, or put the bottle on the top shelf, causing the egg shelf problem below, not an issue for adults, but for kids it is hard to reach. A egg carton doesn't fit easily between two shelf's if placed in the next shelf placement spot, it is too close together by 1/4 of an inch. Other wise the fridge works good, easy to install, and looks nice. Just haven't found a good workable configuration yet.
