Spend a little extra for a higher model

I have had this refrigerator for almost a year. I need to stop being so frugal when it comes to appliances. I should have spent a little more money as I feel this is the bottom of the line GE product. Pros. I like the water spout in the fridge for cold water. It keeps everything nice and cold. The bright light lets you see everything, even the stuff in the back of the fridge. I like the ice maker and it isn't noisy. Cons. EVERYTHING squeaks. The plastic drawers must have plastic rollers because I can wake the neighbors when pulling out a drawer for fruit. All of the drawers make this horrible sound. The freezer is relatively quiet but when pulling the drawer out it makes a big pop sound like I broke it. The ice maker does not sense that the bucket isn't under it so when the drawer is pulled out the ice falls to the back of the freezer. Therefore you have to get on your knees and reach back into the freezer to clear the ice or you leave it. The drawer can still close but I think this would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very nice looking refridgerator

I bought this because it is a newer version of my other GE fridge that was 13 years old. I loved that fridge other than it had a main board failure when it was 4 years old and just recently a main part went that was $450.00. I felt the age of the unit I wasn't going to put that kind of money into it. I decided on the same unit only the updated version. I gave 4 stars and not 5 because Looking at it briefly on line it looked identical other than the upgrades with the side shelves and water dispenser. Once the new fridge was installed I noticed the interior shelving cannot not be adjust higher without removing one of the shelves completely to fit gallons of water/ milk or soda. I can fit them in the door but that isn't enough when you want to add a few gallons of milk or water without completely losing more space.My older fridge I could fit gallons of milk /soda water on the bottom shelve without losing an entire shelf. That is the only negative I can see on this fridge. I will report back with a 5 if I figure out a way to move a shelf without completely pulling it out.

We've only had the fridge for a few days, but so far, we love it! It is so big and very quiet when running. I will say the ice maker seems to be slow but no big deal, we had done without an ice maker for months.

I bought this refrigerator recently to replace an old side by side. The interior is well lit in both the upper and lower areas, very spacious, adjustable shelving, plenty of room in the freezer compartment.
