Convenient layout.

Shelves are conveniently laid out. But: cold water dispenser is useless, only a way for GE to upsell filters; freezer drawer makes a racket when it is being closed, plastic slamming against plastic; stainless steel finish needs constant smudge cleaning.

Great lighting in the fridge, love the door configuration, and super happy with the in-fridge water filter/dispenser - makes the outside look so much cleaner

Our old GE stopped "refridgerating!" and we needed something immediately.
Not only were we able to get our new model very quickly but we are more than pleased. The bottom freezer is much more handy than the old side-by-side. And we have lots of room in the fridge now!

Nice having the freezer on the bottom. Don' t have to bend down to see in the refrigerator, because it is at eye level. Something to consider as you age.

BEAUTIFUL BUT functional?

I love the slate finish! I really like the bottom freezer. The first refrigerator that was delivered had a bad compressor and did not cool. It was re-ordered and I waited 2 more weeks. Finally delivered. Very happy. This refrigerator IS extremely quiet. I don't think a lot of thought went into the shelving and their placements. Liter/gallon containers can only be put in the doors unless you give up the whole rear side of a shelf. REALLY WEIRD SIZING ON SHELF PLACEMENT. REALLY LOOK AT THIS BEFORE YOU BUY OR YOU WILL NOT BE HAPPY. I keep re-arranging the shelves every time I go grocery shopping. I bought the french door because I thought it would let me have MORE options for storage, but it is less. I end up laying gallon jugs on their sides and pray they don't leak. I had a stock pot of soup to put in and I had to remove a shelf from one side. That would not have happened on my old side by side. I miss having a butter shelf in the door big time. The ice cube maker inside the freezer for me is a plus, as well as the water dispenser inside as well. I really dislike these in the door. In my old refrigerator I was always wiping drips on the front. I REALLY like G E Appliances, but the shelf thing on this has me pulling my hair. The stove, microwave and dishwasher are fantastic! (that match) And again, this slate is an awesome color, it changes in tone with lighting, and at times almost has a bronze finish. Some lighting, very much a dark silver and at times taupe. This color will do well in any color scheme in your kitchen. I think much nicer than the black stainless. I would recommend, but LOOK at the shelving first!
