Disappointed in the engineering quality

Our refrigerator died, so we needed a new refrigerator asap. We bought the GE because we had purchased a new GE electric range a few months earlier and we were extremely pleased with the range. The refrigerator has less quality then our prior refrigerator. The drawers all squeak and groan when opened. The top freezer drawer does not open fully, making it hard to retrieve items from the back of the drawer. The temperature seems to fluctuate a lot. The water dispenser is very hard to push. The protective wrap that was under the door gaskets did not come off, so the edges look a woolly mammoth. The noise level is higher then our old refrigerator. I like the deep door storage. The bottom line is, if we had more time to shop, we would probably have purchased a different model GE or a different brand altogether.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very noisy fridge!!

Ive had this fridge 6 mos now and it works good, however it is soooooo noisy! The internal water filling is so noisy it has woke our baby up down the hall! The freezer drawer Is also very loud to open and close, it sounds like your slamming it, there is no quiet way to do so. The water is also very slow comming out and you have to use both hands to fill a glass because you have to push a tiny button with one hand and hold the glass with other. It would be nice if button was large enough you could fill a glass by pushing the button with the glass like on most other refrigerators. The shelving system isn't my favorite either. You can't get very many tall Items in it because the shelves have very little variety in adjusting. So far though it hasn't had any problems. The ice maker works good and I am just now replacing the water filter after 6 months and we use the water ALOT. Keeps suff cold and light inside is great.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Perfect for my needs!

I bought this refrigerator in July. Initially, I bought a smaller model. I wasn't happy with the size, so they exchanged it easily. I am so happy with the change. I LOVE the size, I can fit so much more in this fridge. So many condiments and things fit on the door, that I do not need to put them in the main part of the fridge. I am so happy with the sliding shelf that allows for taller things to be in the main body of the fridge. We often have too many tall drinks etc. so we needed that slidable shelf. It is awesome. I love the size of the bottom drawer in the fridge. It easily fits so many small things like yogurt, cheeses, hot dogs, etc. I LOVE my new fridge also because of the slate color. It is so easy to clean, and with two children under 3 yrs. old, that is important!
I would recommend this to a friend!

We bought this to replace a fridge that was way too small for our use. The slate looks great in our kitchen and so far great performance. Also purchased the matching stove and microwave.
