Love this refrigerator but it's so LOUD

I love this refrigerator. I had a side-by-side refrigerator before and couldn't stand it. I finally broke down and bought this beginning of December and couldn't be more thrilled. I did so much research and finally decided on this one. I need black appliances and this refrigerator is beautiful!! I specifically wanted the ice maker inside the freezer and nothing on the outside. The ice maker works great, and I like that the water dispenser is on the inside. There is so much room inside this I don't think I'll ever be able to fill it. At first, I was kind of concerned that I wouldn't be able to put anything tall in this like a gallon of milk or my filtered water pitcher, then I realized that one of the shelves slides back. Brilliant! The things I don't like about it which make me give it 3 stars. It's so loud! I seriously can't believe how loud this thing is. It's to the point of annoying. It occasionally shuts off, but it runs more often, and I seriously want to pull my hair out. It's hard to ignore, I guess if you turn the tv up louder it will drown it out. The other thing I don't like, but I can live with it is the door shelves. There's just not enough space for tall items in the door. They should have gotten rid of the mini shelf at the bottom and made it a full shelf. As of right now the mini shelf is hidden by the larger shelf, so it's great for hiding things.

GREAT FEATURES

THIS IS THE LARGEST FRENCH DOOR REFRIDGERATOR THAT WOULD FIT INTO OUR SMALLER COUNER SPACE LIMITED AREA . IT IS A LITTLE TALLER IN THE BACK OR THE FRIDG SO I HAD TO CUT THE BOTTOM OF THE OVER HANGING CABINET ABOUT 3/4 FO AN INCH TO SLIDE IT INTO THE SPACE. IT IS ALSO DEEPER THAN MOST FRIDGES SO IT DOES STICK OUT INTO THE PATHWAY A FEW EXTRA INCHES, BUT WE STILL HAVE ROM TO WALK BY.

A Quality & Spacious 33” Fridge with Minor Quirks

One of the few reputable 33” width fridges that fits my space. My wife loves it. It looks good and very spacious. There are minor areas for improvement like the water dispenser continues to leak a little after every use, unused gaps in the freezer section. I bought this because I heard it has better quality than other brands.

33' wide fridge

Large door compartments make storing condiments and drinks easily accessible. the 33' width fits my space well. Ice maker bucket takes up some freezer space but still adequate.

33" wide with huge capacity

I love my new GE fridge which replaced a side by side. The GE has so much more usable space. Love the organization of the fridge and the freezer. My only complaint is there are times with the refrigerator is quite noisy several times a day. I will be getting in touch with GE to see if this is normal.

Ice maker did not work

We purchased this refrigerator for our vacation home. It was installed when we were not there. On our first visit the ice maker was not working and of course they could not send someone out to service it while we were there. We then had to pay our maintenance man to meet the repair people there as we live 3 hours away. Turns out it was a factory issue as they set the filter in wrong. Will not be purchasing a GE appliance in the future.

So happy with my new fridge. We have to buy a less wide unit because of our opening and this one fits the bill. Lots of room and it didn’t even take 12 hours to get cold and was making ice right away!
