VERY FAINT WHINE TO COMPRESSOR AS IT CYCLES ON & OFF TO MAINTAIN TEMEREATURE.THIS IS THE QUIETEST WINDOW UNIT I`VE EVER OWNED.VIBRATIONS ARE SO SMALL ,THE WINDOW HAS LOST IT`S SYMPATHATIC RATTLES.hOPE IT RUNS A LONG TIME!

Works good, cools things off, quiet. Couldn't put it in the room we need it for because it will blow right on the person in bed. Put it in the room next door and the chill makes it into our bedroom. (with a strategically placed fan to move the air in the right direction)

I installed this unit in my workshop. I am very pleased so far. I like the economy mode so it shuts off completely when not in use.
The remote controls the functions well. Because it has a remote it allowed me to install the unit high up and out of the way of my work area.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, economy feature, easy to use remote

This unit has worked amazingly since my landlord installed it a month ago. Prior to that, I had an in-room portable unit that was almost worthless and caused my electric bill to skyrocket during the summer. Now it's about $30 a month lower so when I upgrade the rest of the rooms, this unit will more that pay for itself. Our local laundromat has a LG Flat screen TV so when it's time to upgrade that, I'm going LG all the way. I'm also glad LG is interested in our opinions.

A Solid Bargain

Aside from being a little noisy and lacking a little oomph in fanspeed/air distribution, this unit performs quite well in our small bedroom and we are quite satisfied with our 'little bagain'. Would recommend this to customers needing cooling power as advertised for a room of 300 sq. ft.! Good job LG - a solid product overall!

This air conditioner cooled a 10'X10 'room with 8' ceiling and no insulation in walls in the the hot humid southeast to 70F daily. For the performance and price I recommend the LG LW6511R for a room no larger than 10X12'.

Excellent Performance for Price

With the extremely hot weather this summer, we needed an air conditioner for the first time in our bedroom in our camp up in New Hampshire. Our LW6511R was exactly the right size for us, was easy to install, and works like a charm!
