I've only had this washer for about 6 weeks, so I can't speak to long-term issues or benefits. So far, it gets my clothes incredibly clean and has more space than I anticipated for the smaller model. It has the same potential drawbacks that all front loading washers have (the wet gasket, the occasional stuck sock, the noise during the high speed spin cycle), but so far they're all manageable and I'm very happy with the washer. Vibration has been very minimal, especially considering we've got it on a second floor and on tile (but it is stacked, which likely helps). The variety of cycles is at first mind boggling, but I'm getting used to it and finding myself using more of the pre-programmed cycles than I thought I would. I haven't had it long enough to really examine the energy savings.

Do not purchase this machine!

I purchased this washer along with the matching dryer as this was the only set of machines that fit into the built in cabinetry in my laundry room. There is a serious design flaw in the washer that allows small items to get stuck in the door - you can see them - but you cannot open the door to remove until the cycle is complete. Now you have one or two wet socks to deal with. I have used front load washers for years and never had this problem.I should have realized this machine had problems as the delivery guy told me to leave the door open after using to avoid the mold. Avoid the mold problem? is he kidding me? Yes, the poor design retains water along the front and other owners have complained of mold (ignore the reviews on this site, every other review site gives these machines 1-2 stars. After using this machine for 2 weeks I am ready to throw it out the window.

I bought a new wash machine in 8/2011 and had to have it fixed 2 months after and when it stopped running right again in March I decided I needed to find a new reliable name so thats what brought me to my first Whirlpool washer and so far so good I like it a lot . Has a lot of great features on it .

I purchased this washer to replace a smaller apartment size top load washer at our vacation home. It works wells and is easy to use. The features are more then we need but there if we do. This washer spins out faster then our previous machine resulting in less drying time. We use less water and can handle larger loads. My only concern is a vibration that's a little annoying when its flushing water out prior to the spin cycle. I'm not sure if this is normal for this product.

I have had this washer for about 3 months. It has performed well so far. I have had the issue with socks getting stuck in the lint collection area. This problem was mentioned in other reviews and is an annoyance. With so many different cycles to choose it takes a while to get used to what setting for the items you are washing. I enjoy the small load setting. I often have a few items to wash and this washes them quickly and efficiently. I do wish the wash cycles in general were not so long. A normal load takes at least an hour to wash. The only saving grace is the dryer seems to dry quicker than the previous Duet dryer I owned. This helps to even out the long wash cycle. I am hopeful this washer lasts longer than my previous one that had issues after only a few years and was not worthy of repair after 8 years.
