Slick and efficient

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my whirlpool set a short while ago and I'm very pleased with the overall performance. I have had a slight issue with the programming pad on the washer but Whirlpool has been right on top of it and will be replacing the control panel.
I love the selection of programs on both the washer and dryer and they seem to be quite a bit more energy efficient than my previous set. The touch pads are VERY sensitive, but fortunately, there is a lock setting, so I've figured out how NOT to turn it on by mistake. I love that my grandson can't start it up once I've engaged the lock.

Leaked water from the bottom since we purchased it

Yep. Leaked water from the undercarriage since we purchased it in 2012. Had someone out to repair MULTIPLE times, and still it leaks. 7 years later, stuff is beginning to fall off. The feet on the bottom are stuck and I can't find a wrench narrow enough to adjust it. The mother board is beginning to fail, and we need to buy something else soon. Will it be whirlpool? NOPE!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Better than I expected!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For those who want a simplified version . . . this is it! Still has a digital control panel, though. My thought with these machines is "Less is more". I've had this machine less than a month. After reading the instructions I washed a few loads. All was well. But then I washed a bath mat without other clothes. It wouldn't spin. So I called Whirlpool and they sent a repairman. He was wonderful! He explained that the load has to be balanced, among other things. He demystified the machine for me! Of course, there was nothing wrong with the machine except operator error!!! It is too early to tell if this washer is wonderful. . . depends on how long it lasts! I hope it continues to be this good for a long time!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are ranchers. We have many very dirty loads. This machine holds up to the volume of dirty items including horse boots!!! This is my second Whirlpool washer. The only thing I wish is that they would last longer than 11 years!!
