Saving grace

Got this unit to replace older washer that has served us well. The unit has performed and met all of our expectations. The clothes come out so clean and dry (meaning damp not water soaked) that we hang dry most of our shirts and this has shorten the drying times and loads sizes for dryer. We love the detergent dispenser and we notice we now use less soap as before and the clothes smell fresh and really have the scent of the detergent we use. We made sure it was leveled and its not very loud when spinning at high speed, in fact very quiet. Now there are times you hear a knocking sound and this is when the machine balances or senses the loads, other than that its very quiet. Its a savings due it issues with the dryer. (see other review) Because it uses less water and clothes come out damp, we been able to hang dry our clothes until the dryer can stay working longer than a day. Fan Fresh feature works great on small loads so we use it for small items to dry. Really there are many features we might not ever use since we have just basic laundry but its nice to know we have the flexibility to configure our washer for future needs.

The Whirlpool duet is quiet and efficient . I like the feature that it shows you how many minutes it will take to do the job . It is HE so it takes lessdetergent and softener, saving money. The clear glass window allows me to see that all is working well.

We purchased this washer in April 2011 and have been using it for over a year now. We still love it today as much as we did the first month we had it. The tumble fresh option is great when you plan not to move your clothes to the dryer right away. I also like the small load feature, the sanitize cycle and the Eco options. We stack our washer and dryer and the are very quiet! Much better than expected.

A solid washing machine for frequent use

With a new baby, we do a lot of laundry. This machine is easy to use and gets everything clean. It's two shortcomings are with noise. The locking mechanism is loud (3 startling clicks) and the final spin cycle can be rambunctious with a full load.

Had a love affair with my old front loader but it broke irrepairably. I searched for a replacent not expecting it to compare........this washer exceeds my expectations.........even though we are just getting to know eachother! .......a match made in heaven! Much better than on line dating.

Poor rinse

I did notice a marked decrease in our water usage. But I had to add rinse cycles in order to get the detergent rinsed out. I found that if I wash my whites and towels on the "allergen" cycle it uses more water to rinse. (You can wash in a little soapy water but you need lots of water to rinse completely)
