Is it short enough?

That is the big question. What iRobot seems to miss out on, is that people who installed cabinets with thin linoleum floors can use scooba/roomba fine. But, if those floors are replaced with tile, then there is no longer clearence under the cabinet edges for the robots. We recently moved into a new house that was upgraded to a tile floor. Our scooba will not work, and gets stuck under the cabinets with the wheels not making traction and unable to get out. The result is that I can no longer rely on scooba to clean in the kitchen, and roomba doesn't get under the cabinets well either.

I was stoked when I received this for Mother's Day, that and the fact that I was deploying to Afghanistan made it seem like it would save me money in the long run because I didn't have to put money towards a cleaning person. I read the directions and put it to work. It was louder than I imagined and I immediately noticed that there were large puddles left on my tile floor. I've used it a few times and it seems to do an ok job, but there is no dirty water in the dirty water bin... ever. Is that water left on my floor? If that is the case, it is just like dumping water on my floor and walking away. I'm also too scared to use it on my hardwood floors. I'm going to contact the company to make sure that I didn't do anything wrong, but as of now, I don't know the effectiveness of this machine. At least I don't have to mop, right?
Pros: I can do other things, I don't have to mop, Long cleaning time
Cons: Can Get Stuck, Leaves large puddles, Noisy
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Too Much Water

I am so heartbroken that I cannot use it through out my whole house. It has actually left some of my hardwood a bit warped at the joins - my Husband is really upset. It would fantastic on any other floor, although does still leave the floor feeling wet. I am disappointed as I love my roomba so much. It has helped tremendously due to the fact I have a disability.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Covers Entire Room, Deep Cleaning Ability, Hassle Free Operation, Large Debris Bin, Long Run Time
Cons: DO NOT USE ON HARDWOOD, LEAVES WAY TOO MUCH WATER, Noisy
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This Thing is Not Ready Prime Time.

We ordered one of these as a test-project at work to see if it could assist our cleaning crew. Depending on the outcome of the test machine, we were prepared to purchase 10-12 more Scoobas. The machine was disappointing all-around. It's too loud even for a work-place environment and there was no method to how it went about scrubbing; just seemed to roam aimlessly. As it went about its way, it left puddles of water in the office and hallway. Though we allowed it to run for approx. 45 mins, we could tell in the first 5 that the Scooba was not something we wanted to keep. We didn't want 1 of them; let alone 12. In the end, we shut it off and one of the cleaning crew took a mop to all the water this thing left on the floor. It's a good concept but iRobot has a lot of work to do. The Scooba is not ready for prime time and the [$] asking price for this beta-machine is totally laughable. Cleaning floors in a quiet, quick, and efficient manner is still a job for a mop.
Pros: Good Concept
Cons: Noisy, Works like a Broken Toy
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The concept is great, it needs better charging and battery life not extra power trips. Make it stronger and quieter. The technology to improve this device is here and you are in the best situation to obtain it. Don't jerk your customers and we will be loyal to you like Apple customers please! We need this device. don't let someone else come behind and steal your market. No sleep until you achieve AAA
Pros: I Want To See It Happen
Cons: No Extra Batteriescharge, Short Battery Life

Do not use on Hardwood

Other than it cannot clean corners (love my roomba for that), and warps my hardwood floors, I love it. It is amazing how much dirt it does get up. I have found that it seems to leave a lot of water on the floor - you just have to wait for it to dry. I see they have a new product - the little square one, I wonder if it works better. I wish it would dock itself like Roomba.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Hassle Free Operation
Cons: Warps Hardwood Floors
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A great companion to Roomba

We love our Roomba and decided to get a Scooba. It was my Christmas present. I've used it 3 times and really like it. We have a large kitchen/keeping room/breakfast room/office/pantry with tile floors - a really large area to Swiffer or mop. This has done a great job on this area as well as the bathroom. Now, it's more of a floor washer than a floor scrubber. You may have to get a few of the stubborn spots up yourself but it's a lot easier than my real floor scrubber and it's a lot easier to clean. Just pour in the cleaner or water or vinegar solution (yes, you can use that) and start it. When finished, empty the tank and clean the tube, filter and brush/squeegee assembly. Very quick and easy. It doesn't dry our floor real well (that's the season for the 4 stars instead of 5) but what water is left drys quickly and it doesn't leave streaks. I highly recommend this, along with the Roomba.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room, Hassle Free Operation, Quiet
I would recommend this to a friend!
