I was given this for christmas, used that night to see how loud it was and how well it worked. Loved the fact that you can be doing two things at one time. Or just relaxing reading while cleaning the floor. I live at the lake and my house is almost all tile with five large dogs.. What a time saver..
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room, Hassle Free Operation, Long Run Time, Pet Friendly, Quiet
Cons: Can Get Stuck

Awesome!!!!

I was nervous about this purchase. But I'm so glad I bought it. I have about 500 sf of flooring, and I've never been happy with the results of swiffers, steam vacuums, etc. I've run my scooba every day for a week, and it's amazing. My floors have never looked so good or felt better to walk on. A perfect investment for a busy person or someone (like me) with back problems. Push a button and it's done!
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Hassle Free Operation, Pet Friendly
Cons: Noisy

Great When Used With Other Robots

I have had various robots over the years with varying degrees of issues. The newer models are definitely an improvement. I didn't use any robots for a several years, after which I tried to use only a Scooba in my four-Standard Poodle, three-cat home close to the beach. I learned quickly that the Scooba will not pick up sand. I could run my hand over my damp floor and feel the grit. I added the Braava and found that it, too, would not get the sand. However, I really like it for a quick damp mop and use it almost daily. Next I added the Roomba and it is very effective on the sand. It is programmed to sweep all rooms except my bedroom every night. I now use my "team" and my floors are always extremely clean with very little effort on my part. The Scooba does get stuck easily but I just quickly move a few things around, leave the house and return to a clean floor. Sometimes I use the Braava with a dry cloth at the same time as the Scooba. Braava gives the floors a bit more of a workout and picks up the extra water that the Scooba leaves. I have porcelain tile (hand-scraped wood look) throughout so with the indentations in the floor, water pick-up is not great. Personally, I would not use Scooba on wood or laminate floors due to the amount of water left behind, but I would use Braave on either of them. I gave the Scooba only four stars because to keep my floors in perfect shape requires three different robots. But believe me, I love it!
Pros: Covers Entire Room, Deep Cleaning Ability, Long Run Time, Pet Friendly
Cons: Can Get Stuck, Leave Water On Floor, Noisy

LOVE SCOOBA

My tile floors are always clean. I set Scooba Steve up and let him go and in no time my floors are sparkly clean. I use my scooba at least 4 times a week. I can't stand dirty floors, Steve keeps my floors nice and clean, which makes me very happy.

Cons: Can Get Stuck, Noisy

Do not ever buy a Scooba!!!
on December 26, 2013

The Scooba needs more than 3 hours of charging in order to function for slightly more than 1 hour. It is also unable to climb up slopes that my Roomba crosses with ease. It requires a lot of human intervention. I have to constantly monitor it to make sure that it does not stop working. I do NOT recommend anyone to buy a Scooba unless all weaknesses are rectified.
Pros: Cleans Effectively
Cons: Frequent Maintenance, Loses Charge Quickly, Needs Constant Monitoring
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Better than I expected

A year ago I purchased a Roomba 770. My expectations were not high for a robot's performance. The Roomba really proved itself to me. So I finally broke down and purchased the Scooba 390. As with the Roomba, my expectations were not high. But I figured anything would help. I am pleasantly surprised at the job the Scooba did on my tile floors. It allows me to multi task.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Hassle Free Operation, Long Run Time, Pet Friendly
Cons: Noisy, Pricey / Poor Value

Better than earlier models but...

This is my 8th or 9th scooba, my second 390. Had to send 2-4 of the earlier ones back for exchanges. Had to send first 390 back after 4-5 months. I keep trying the new scoobas because I love the concept of a robot doing the druge work. And there is no question that the 390 is a HUGE improvement over earlier models: hour long run time; much easier to clean and maintain. Moreover the company is great to deal with. But for my household, which is admittedly tough with 6 dogs, it only does a mediocre job. I have the house cleaned professionally every two weeks and then use scooba 2-4 times a week mainly on the living room (ceramic tile). The result is a tolerably clean floor. It is important to clean the machine after every use and pay special attention to the brush as that can easily clog. I am not sorry that I bought the 390 but with its hefty price its a decision that should be made knowing the machine's limitations. For more difficult households this is not a substitute for a professional cleaning. I would recommend to a friend WITH careful caveats as to what to expect/not-expect.
Pros: Cleans Reasonably Well, Long Run Time
Cons: Can Get Stuck, Doesn't Clean Bad Spots, Not good with pet hair

So glad I finally bought one

I looked at this for years and did not buy it because it seemed a lot of money for something I could do myself with a mop. I finally broke down because we own backyard chickens and our kitchen floor was constantly muddy, I never got around to washing it frequently enough, and I was tired of the mess of mops and buckets in my closet. I'm so glad I did! I run it every night after dinner, just putting up the kitchen chairs and moving the garbage pail into the hall. It does not catch under my cabinets, even though the roomba does. My kitchen looks SO much better and every day I walk in there I'm happy I bought it. I also run it in our small entry hallway where the catbox is once a week and it leaves it spotless. We run it with plain water or water and vinegar in the kitchen and it does a fantastic job. We use the recommended antibacterial cleaner in the mud room. There is an extremely light film of water left on the floor after washing (less than with a mop) that dries within 5 minutes of completion. I bake and cook constantly and we leave lots of mud and it has cleaned it very well. Dried ground in dough needed to be loosened by hand before cleaning - just as you would when mopping. It has a very easy to use design - simple to fill and empty and simple to dump the bins. The dust bin is tiny - if I didn't run it frequently I would have to sweep (or roomba) before I ran it. My only complaint is that I'd like a tool to clean one of the lines for sucking up water maybe once a month as it can get clogged with cat hair and leave a tad more water on the floor than usual. If you buy this - or a roomba - you should run it all the time. Running it is painless - that's the point. Running it daily leaves your floors spotless with almost no effort and makes the cost worthwhile. If you only run it once a month, you might as well do it yourself. I am VERY pleased with the purchase.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room, Hassle Free Operation, Long Run Time, Pet Friendly
Cons: Small Refuse Collector
