An asset to any household. Virtually replaces mopping. I wish iRobot will make a new model, instead of having the same old design for nearly 10 years. The 390 is essentially the exact same than the previous models, but has a newer "brain". Please try to make one that is less noisy and leaves a lot less water on the floor.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Covers Entire Room, Hassle Free Operation, Long Run Time, Pet Friendly
Cons: Leaves A Lot Of Water, Noisy, Old Design Technology

I purchased Scoobi over the summer when our new house was finished. We have java bean stained, premium grade red oak floors that were properly sealed with high gloss throughout the house except the bathrooms. I know they were done right bec/ I'm the daughter of the contractor who has been in business for almost 40 years. The floor guys said to clean the floors with either water plus a little distilled white vinegar, or one particular floor cleaner (bona?). I was hesitant to try the robot on hardwood because of some of the reviews, so I started with the bathrooms. I used the water/vinegar combination. It worked great and picked up a TON of gunk. When I used it on hardwood the first time I used the water/vinegar combination in a very small mud room. It worked great! Absolutely no problems... just clean clean clean. The first time I used it in a normal size room I put my eye to the floor and watched what Scoobi was doing. I thought I got a lemon because he was laying down drops of water, not much was being sucked up, etc. But I decided to let him finish his routine, and ultimately the floor looked awesome. My advice is to just let the robot do its thing and then judge it at the end. I have done every room in the house multiple times and love Scoobi. It picks up hair, dust bunnies, pollen, dirt etc. When I empty the dirty water chamber it's gray because Scoobi has worked so hard. Maybe the other reviewers used this on pre-finished or laminate floors? I'm telling you this works great on properly sealed hardwood floors. Now for a few tips... I empty and clean all the parts each time per the instructions. I don't mind bec/ I can see how much it's cleaning. Once you've done it a couple of times it's a no brainer where all of the parts go. I could care less about the noise, and it recharges fast. I had to purchase a couple extra virtual walls because Scoobi can get stuck (1) in my kitchen island decorative trim skirt, and as well as (2) large hardwood floor HVAC vents. If I'm doing a smaller room, I put less water in Scoobi so I can cover more rooms on a single charge. However, the tradeoff is that the additional rooms don't get as dry because the squeegee is obviously wet from the first room and rinse down. :)
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room, Deep Cleaning Ability, Hassle Free Operation, Large Debris Bin
Cons: Can Get Stuck

Our brave little Quixote (so named because of his repeated battles with the box fan) makes life so much easier. We only have a bit over 400 sq ft, but he keeps it squeaky clean. A bit loud, yes, but I'd happily take a little noise over cleaning the floors myself.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room
Cons: Can Get Stuck, Noisy

I use it to clean one room at a time. It does a good job as long as you let it run for it's full 45 minute cycle. It is very noisy, and does get stuck. Still beats having to mop.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room, Long Run Time
Cons: Can Get Stuck, Noisy

I bought a Roomba earlier in the year and was so amazed and impressed by it that the Scooba was added a few months later. All I can say is WOW. I absolutely hate cleaning floors AND I have cats and dogs (and run a rescue), so it has been a chore and then some to keep things up to par. I live in a tri-level and the lower area has linoleum where my dogs romp. Scooba went through and scrubbed those areas very well. It is extraordinarily easy to set up and use...seriously I don't know how anyone would have a problem with putting in soap and water and pressing a button. DUH. Cleaning it is very simple. The only critical thing I have to say about it is that it doesn't do corners or edges as well as it does everything else. This is something the inventors will have to work on for the next generation of Scoobas. But now I'm getting a Mint to add to the Scooba and Roomba so I may never have to clean a dang floor again!
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room, Deep Cleaning Ability, Hassle Free Operation, Long Run Time
Cons: Can Get Stuck, Does Not Clean Stairs, Edge And Corner Cleaning, Noisy

Tile about 3,000 sq ft -- do have trouble with the door barriers though. On about my 5th--was on the wait list for 1st ones to hit market years ago. Ready for a new one--price is a little steep but if you can afford it, buy it.

Doesn't work as well as Roomba

After owning a Roomba and quite happy about it, wanted something to clean the hardwood and tile floors. This product does ok if the room is enclosed as it often goes past the virtual wall, and if it isn't in the kitchen, where it can get hung up going under the cabinets and diswasher. Doesn't seem to have a reverse which I think would help out a lot in getting hung up. Instead it just tries to rotate and move forward which often compounds the hangup. I have to watch it carefully for when it does get hung up otherwise it just sits there running and doesn't stop.
Cons: Can Get Stuck, Often Gets Stuck, Often Passes Virtual Wall

I used it for over a year, it does the job but I already had the tank replaced twice because it always crackes on top and leaks. The warranty is great so Irobot took care of the issue every time. I liked it enought to recommend it to a friend who bought one too...
