Poor Quality

I have been happy with my other Kitchenaid appliances, but after spending an arm and a leg on this fridge, am sorely disappointed. My sister bought the same one after I did and has already replaced hers. We've had to have a repairman work on it twice already! The front has rusted (how does stainless steel rust?) even though I've used the approved products. The ice maker is a waste of space. The door does not have enough insulation to keep the ice cubes from melting! Do not buy this product

Bad design.

We were told this item is designed wrong and not fixable. Disappointed. The problem is where the water lines run and they freeze. We were told to buy one where the ice maker is built into the door. In this one it is built in the ceiling. This is not the only problem we had with it, but this alone warrants 1 star.

Suprise

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn’t think I would get use to the lower freezer. With the separate compartments and two pull out drawers, I was surprised with easy it was to get the food without having to move everything thing aroind. The LED lights are great and light up the whole interior. I use the measuring water dispenser while preparing meals. Overall this is great addition to my new kitchen.

Junk!

Two years in and a circuit board has failed for no obvious reason. KitchenAid would not cover a replacement, even though it was totally their fault. They designed it to be junk and refused to stand behind their product. I will be avoiding KitchenAid products in the future and telling everyone else to avoid as well.

Horrible right out of the box

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this less than a month ago and it’s been a huge disappointment. As soon as it was plugged in it was making a knocking and humming noise. It was delivered on a Friday and over the weekend it only produced about 18 ice cubes. The fridge leaks water inside out of the ice maker. It drips down into the door shelf and also into the sliding herb compartment. Then to make things worse the freezer door doesn’t seal complete, you can literally see light coming through the seal in one corner of the door. Explains why our ice packs weren’t freezing and the fridge runs almost constantly. For the amount of money this fridge costs it’s extremely disappointing to see this kind of workmanship especially from a KitchenAid product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good looking BUT horrible ice functioning!

I bought this refrigerator/ice maker 5 or 6 years ago. The motor in the ice ,asker was replaced 3 times but it kept not dispensing. Again 1 month after the warranty expired the ice maker quit dispensing again (motor won’t turn/all rusty when they remove) and I have done without it because I refuse to pay the price to fix it! NOW where the ice maker dispenses in to the bin, water keeps freezing there (heater not working?) and water runs all through the inside of the refrigerator. Another large expense that shouldn’t be an issue.
The top drawer in the freezer won’t stay locked on the back of the track. We keep fixing it but it will come back off again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fridge from Hell

I’ve put up with the constant issues; water leaks, lack of cooling freezer/fridge, defrost issues, high pitch noise, turning off for no reason, and now it stopped cooling for good. Due to lack of reliability we purchased a cheap backup fridge and now at year 5 we are at a decision point. I would like to maintain the same look for all appliances, but this fridge has been hell do deal with. Reading other reviews around KitchenAid fridges, they all seem to point towards the same common issues.AVOID

Nothing but problems

Our refrigerator isn’t even 5 years old and we have had countless issues with it
First it stopped making ice
Then it wouldn’t keep temperature it was too warm
Now it won’t keep temperature because it’s freezing things
So many dairy products have been ruined as a result
I’ve had better luck with other brands. As a matter of fact our “old” fridge is Kenmore and thank goodness it’s still working so we use it primarily for things that would be ruined by freezing
Not impressed with Kitchenaid I’m sorry to say
