This is the worst fridge in the world please do not buy and kitchen aid doesn't care about people they only want to make money and sell junk :(

Extremely disappointed

Fell in love with this refrigerator in the showroom, because it truly looks amazing. I loved the look so much I bought matching range, microwave and dishwasher. After spending over 8k on everything, I must say the refrigerator is very disappointing. The freezer has been covered in ice and icicles since almost day one. The ice maker routinely melting and delivers a nice splash of cold water out of the dispenser instead of ice. Have called kitchensid numerous times to take care of this with no luck. There is something seriously wrong with the design of this refrigerator. I hate that because it looks so good and I don't want to buy a non matching unit, but i also want a freezker and ice maker that actually work. Buyer beware!

Love the layout.... fridge leaks

We bought this fridge almost 1 year ago. It worked great for about a month then we started noticing it was dripping from the ice maker. We called and had it “repaired” roughly 8 times and it still leaked. Kitchenaid then replaced it with the same model and what do you know it’s leaking from the ice maker. Had the repair people out again and they used the loophole hidden in the warranty information that if they say the problem has to do with the water pressure than they can charge for any additional repairs. The manufacturer recommended psi is 30-120psi for this fridge and our water pressure is within these numbers. After calling kitchen aid I was told that the manufactur’s recommendations are guidelines and they really mean nothing. So now because kitchenaid has a faulty design we have to deal with a leaking fridge or pay an arm and a leg to have the “repair company” come out and do the same thing they have done the last 10 times they were here. We love the layout of the fridge but I will never buy another kitchen aid product again.

Bad appliance

We've had this refrigerator for 5 years. It had really nice features and we loved it, up until a few issues started last month. We had to have a repair man come out to fix the issue and he charged us a ridiculous amount. Kitchen aid originally said we had a warranty, but when we tried to redeem it they said that we do not have any warranty. All my appliances are KitchenAid, and I really loved this company, but they do not care about their customers. They did not care to help us at all and we received terrible customer service.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We loved our fridge, then this happened...

We bought our fridge about 6 months ago and loved it - everything we wanted and looked sharp too! The 3 days ago it stopped making ice and yesterday it stopped cooling. Today our service guy told us all kinds of problems with this model - a lemon - we're hoping for our money back. Such a shame. It will be really difficult to find another fridge with all the features of this one, plus it looked so good in our kitchen! It is our understanding that Kitchenaid may be discontinuing this model...

Looks great, doesn't keep food cold consistently

This was my dream fridge. It looks amazing. It has great function. I purchased all other appliances to match in my new kitchen. It will not keep food cold consistently. We've had parts replaced (out of our pocket expense), had service calls where no one can determine why it won't hold temps consistently. We've lost food twice! Once in both the freezer and fridge areas and currently the freezer is maintaining cold, but the fridge compartment (and the 2 external drawers) will not. Beyond frustrated after spending so much money on a brand that I always considered high end. I've sent a message to Kitchenaid as I've seen many responses from them on here asking for that. I've heard nothing. I didn't want to write this review. But seeing that so many others have had the same experience I want to caution others. This is a real concern and a real pattern of failure. I'm truly hoping they will do something to help us out of this situation and to restore my faith in their brand. I don't think it's too much to ask that a fridge keep the contents cold/frozen.

nothing but troubles since 2017

I purchased this refrigerator in 2017 - in 2019-2020 it had problems - the back of the fridge doesn't deal or drain moisture correctly - repair person said is was a design flaw, and if you look online, it is a very common problem. Water accumulates under the two middle drawers and freezes above the freezer, and down into the back. Then, the fan to the freezer stops working (it is frozen over). This happens repeatedly. The original electronic board was replaced and I had a few problem free months there, but now it has been doing it again for well over a year. I gave up dealing with customer service after the first round, but I have had it. 5 years in, and I have lost countless freezers full of food, and hours defrosting and hoping it will work again. I give up - Kitchenaide isn't helping with any of this and it is very frustrating. after paying this much for a refrigerator as part of a matching kitchen appliance package now to only have to find a new refrigerator that won't even match after only 5 years is anxiety inducing and just ridiculous.

DO NOT BUY THIS REFRIGERATOR

We purchased this refrigerator in February of 2018. Staring in March of 2020 we began having problems with the door display and lights. They would don't work. After several technician visits it was determined the issue was related to the control panel in the deli drawer. The control panel was replaced. In May of 2020 the lights and display were not working again along with frosting inside the refrigerator. The technician once again came to inspect and disconnected the control panel all together and the display and lights worked. The deli drawer now does not have a working control panel. In May of 2022 the ice maker stopped working and there was frozen water in the back of the refrigerator as well as around the outside of the ice maker. Once again after several trips from the technician trying multiple different ways to correct the ice make was replaced. January of 2023 the new ice maker-now 8 months old has stopped working. Waiting for another visit from the technician. Hoping this ice maker is under warranty.
What a disaster and disappointment. We will never buy another KitchenAid major appliance again.
