Great refrigerator-But

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great fridge but the ice maker is extremely loud. If that could be fixed this would get a higher rating. For the price I would think this would be a concern by Kitchenaid. My 15 year old fridge makes half the noise this one does

Luv my new fridge! Fits my needs and more!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this 3 weeks ago. I Luv my new fridge, as does anyone that visits my kitchen. Plenty of space, love that I can control temperature of some compartments. And it looks so elegant. So much more room than my old side by side fridge

Loud high pitched whine

2 stars because this fridge has a great layout with nice drawers and interior space. Would give it 0 stars for noise. Fridge emits a high pitched whine we can hear from two rooms away or even upstairs. Easily one of the noisiest appliances in my house. The fridge this replaced was over 10 years old and certainly had its own noises and cycles - this new Kitchenaid makes that one seem like a quiet dream. As this fridge goes through its cooling cycles, the high pitched whine goes from barely noticeable to impossible to ignore. Even after over three weeks of living with it, we still find the sound intrusive. It is quite annoying and if I had known about it, I never would have bought it. We had appliance repair out because it seems so very wrong for a new appliance to sound like this. Apparently Kitchenaid considers loud high pitch noises to be "normal" for fridge operation. Very kind repair person suggested we would probably get used it hearing it. Disappointed we spent the money to introduce such an annoying noise into our everyday lives. Definitely would not recommend

Still my favorite

I’d give this appliance 5*’s if the ice maker didn’t go all exorcist on me. I had the fridge for 2 years ( still do ) before the water dispenser decided to start on its on. Next the ice would fall out by itself. We finally had to disconnect the water source. The control panel was bad and would end up costing more to fix than it was worth. However, as a refrigerator it is one of the best work horses. The thing is like a tank. Solid, heavy duty quality without being a built in. I am fortunate enough to have the room in my kitchen for two fridges and this is my favorite even without the water source. If kitchenaid made one without the ice maker/ water dispenser, I’d buy another.

Great features, marginal quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had the refrigerator 1 day and saw that a drawer slider soft close mechanism was not working correctly. Not a big deal, except this was a replacement of the same model that required numerous repairs starting at year 3 of service . The style is great, but I think they need more attention to detail and better reliability testing of their components.
