Love it so far - only minor issues with the design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This fridge is an organizer's dream. The middle drawers are so handy for keeping cheese,deli meat, and produce, separate from other things in the main fridge. It makes it more convenient to access those items, and to keep them at the proper temperature, and the separate drawers are so much easier to wipe clean. The soft-close feature of those drawers is an added bonus. I also love the drawers and dividers in the freezer. The refrigerator section is very spacious, and it operates VERY quietly. One thing I'm not so crazy about is the ice maker. It's not that it doesn't work properly- it makes ice just fine, but the design was a bad idea because the ice maker is housed on the door, inside the REFRIGERATOR, so even though the ice compartment is insulated, it does not keep the ice cold enough, and the ice cubes tend to melt a little and clump together if you don't use ice every day. So at least once a week we have to dump out all the ice in the little ice holder (it doesn't hold that much anyway) and let it make fresh ice.
The water/ice dispenser control panel works perfectly and is easy to use. I wish it didn't have a convex plastic guard around the dispenser though, because with my old fridge I could hold the dog bowl under the water dispenser, but not so with this one - I have to dispense water into a pitcher and then pour it in the dog bowl. One other weird thing which I had to figure out on my own after the installers apparently didn't fit the glass shelves into the brackets properly, is that the shelves don't easily fit side by side (at the same level). When you insert them into the brackets, if you have two shelves side by side you have to hold them at the same level while lowering them, or they won't sit right. It's hard to describe, but you may be inclined to think they're defective, as I did before I figured out that's how they're designed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was delivered on a Thursday and stopped working on Wednesday. Water all over the floor. I had to through everything in it out and I had shopped and it was full. Over $500 in food wasted. The replacement will not be here for 3 to 4 weeks. Very disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love this refrigerator

This refrigerator has so much room and lots of light to see everything. However, it must be installed correctly and level! We had to call a repair person to find out why we could see between the two doors. Turns out our floor wasn't level (shock) and the installer didn't level it completely, so the doors were not closing correctly, this also effected how the freezer drawer closed. Luckily the service call was covered under the warranty and it now performs beautifully. The two produce/meat drawers create a lot of wasted space and would be more efficient as one full drawer.
The control to turn off the refrigeration is too easily turned on by accident. We has people in our home and someone leaned up against the control panel and turned off the refrigeration. I didn't notice it until the fridge had been off for more than 24 hours.

Love all the little nooks and crannies

Freezer icing up

I bought all kitchenaaide appliances when i remodeled my kitchen in 2017. I bought this frrig as it offered the wo additional drawers which Helen useful but i am very concerned that the frig is now icing on the sides and drawers. First i thought it was just opening it when it was hujmid but his is not the case. Now I have to wipe the drrawers and sides down to get the ice off. Very disappointing and now sure how to get this recotified. I spent a lot of money on double overs, high end cooktops a dishwasher and in line microwave. I have every small appliance from kitchenaide and have been very satisfied which is why i chose this appliance line over others. But am very concerned that now this high end frig is going to close me bit bucks to address whatever this is only a a little over a year since my kitchen was done.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
