Awesome fridge, but black stainless is troublesome

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's a great appliance. My biggest complaint is that the protective film is applied before assembly so it is caught between the stainless and the rest of the door/drawer assemblies. When the installers pull off the film, it stays in the cracks and because the stainless is black, the plastic fray sticks out like a sore thumb. It can't be warrantied yo fix it, so you have to spend hours carefully digging it out with fingernails or a razor blade (but with the latter you run the risk of scratching it). Functions great and looks great if you can rid it of all the plastic.

Ice maker doesn't make ice

I have already had a Kitchen Aid repairman out twice because our ice make barely makes ice and when it does, the mechanism grinds. It is supposed to make three pounds of ice per day. I now have a portable ice maker and make ice every day. I wish I had bought an ice maker inside the freezer instead of the refrigerator.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
