I've had a side-by-side fridge for 30+ years, so it's taking a little getting used to the new layout. There is definitely less "height" available for milk, juice bottles, etc. Even though this appears to be very spacious, there is definitely less space available than my old unit, but the way it is laid out, I think that I can see the food much easier so will probably waste less. I was afraid there wouldn't be enough ice output, but that's not been a problem. I do wish the 2 middle drawers were one large drawer. Lots of wasted space there. Even though this is an expensive unit, certain things seem really "cheap." For instance, the sounds it makes when making ice is what I would expect from a unit $1,000+ less. Also, the top freezer drawers sound like they are rubbing on something and there is a lot of frost, especially on the top drawer. All in all though, have been happy with the purchase.

I would recommend this refrigerator as a "10" I no longer need an extra refrigerator. Love the self closing doors, you just do not realize that it would make a difference until you use it daily. The three areas in the bottom freezer is wonderful because I like organization and it will suit any large family. The foldable self allows any item to fit in your refrigerator. Kitchen Aid really got it right with this design. It also looks expensive and matches my Kitchen Aid stove and dishwasher.

Wonderful lighting. Removable ice box a big plus. Love the outside access to produce and meat. Easy access drawers in freezer are helpful for not bending down.

I hated my old side by side. It was so inefficient. Neither side's shelves were big enough. And I wasn't crazy about the color "black". But then I saw this KitchenAid refrigerator in black stainless. What a pretty finish. Sophisticated and sleek-looking. And it appeared to have plenty of room in both the refrigerator and freezer sections. Now using this refrigerator for almost a month, I am not disappointed. There is so much room -- it's pretty. Couldn't ask for more!
