This mill is great for grinding pepper, but not so much with salt. Apparently salt for a mill is too hard for it to grind and it completely shuts the machine down. Very disappointing.

After many years of failed cheap battery operated units, I finally spent a few extra bucks and got this rechargeable two in one unit. The output (both salt and pepper) is much greater than previous units, so I don't have to spend as much time dispensing. The unit got stuck once on the salt, but I removed the salt holder, tapped it a few times on the counter, re-installed, and it worked fine.

Looks great, seems like solid construction typical of a Cuisinart product. The gears frequently get stopped by peppercorns which it is supposed to grind through. I think the motor should be designed to be stronger, as this IS a peppermill. My wife has given up on using it because every third time or so it gets stuck and doesn't work.

Slick looking and good concept, but does not work. Pepper on bottom grinds perfectly. Problem is when device is flipped, grinder for salt on top does not work causing both ends to stall. Only way to get grinder to work again after flipping is to disconnect and reconnect both pepper and salt reservoirs.

The mill jams with chunky rock salt. Peppercorns are ground just fine, but as soon as I turn over to grind salt it seizes. Now, if I break the salt up with a rolling pin into smaller bits it’ll grind and not seize up. But this is a step I tire of. Great pepper mill, worthless salt mill.

On first use battery only lasted for less than a minute after 16 hours of charging then both grinders got stuck. Total garbage and very dissatisfied with this product

After many battery operated grinders, I an so pleased to have a rechargeable one. The up-keep for six batteries that could have one leak, be out-of-place, or die, all caused the unit to not work when I used it. This unit contains two grinders. Turn it up-side-down and salt falls to grind. Reverse that for pepper. I did like a light in the battery models, but I will gladly change to this one to have it ready on command. Being one unit the salt or pepper does not get moved from the other, they are one unit, so one can't be moved from the other. Grinder consistence is a great option that this one provides. Charger takes up minimal room near the stove. I enjoy giving grinders as wedding presents. I will gladly follow this product for future purchases as gifts. It comes in multiple finishes to please any household.
