Doesn't always keep sealed

I've gotten the quart & gallon bags of this style. They just don't seem to hold the vacuum seal. I've used them for cheese and lunch meat. I'd say about half the time the seal holds. And I do make sure the zip lock is pressed down and sealed before vacuuming. They'd be great if they worked better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
