I like these bags, great for things that you get into often. Others said little tabs where you use hand held have fallen off. I've had no problem with them dropping off. I love these bags. The only thing I think is they are a little pricey.

This is great for extending the life of your cheeses and cold cuts. I no longer have to toss out my deli meats. There is only one person living here and am on a limited income, therefore, am saving money.

I only began using this product a few months ago and I'm so glad I did. I didn't expect to use it so much, but after I'd used it a few times and saw how easy it was, I began using it all the time. Gone are the days of trying to get air out of any other kind of item. I'll be using it all the time.

I think the FoodSaver reusable bags are the best value ever!! The options are endless and my Fridge is filled with them. Everything from cold cuts to cheese to produce, the list goes on. They are great for frozen foods as well, especially because they are reusable and there is no wasting food due to freezer burn and ice crystals. Since it's just my husband and myself, buying in bulk wasn't an option before we purchased our FoodSaver. It is hands down the most used appliance in my kitchen.

Inconsistent Seal

I wanted to like these bags. It's a great concept. But unfortunately the concept didn't prove to be fully realized in practice. The seal obtained with the bags was inconsistent. Of the first 4 bags we tried, one held its vaccum the other 3 did not. Of the next two, one held vacuum, one did not. With all of these, the material in the bag was dry (hard cheese, nuts, dog jerky treats, apple chips, etc) so there was nothing to migrate into the vacuum port to contaminate it. The loss of vaccum was not immediate. The bags seemed to be sealed at first, but upon examining them later we found that the vacuum had failed. To determine where the leak might be, in the zipper or the vacuum port, we placed a piece of clear packing tape over the vacuum port after vacuuming. The bags then held their vacuum, showing that they had leaked through the vacuum port, not the zipper. So that is our work-around now. We keep a roll of clear 2" wide packing tape in the kitchen and put a piece over the vaccum port after vacuuming. We fold one end of the tape over on itself to create a tab and let the tab hang over the edge of the bag so it can be grabbed. The tape can then be easily peeled off to allow the vacuum port to be used again. We dicovered that peeling the tape off does not hurt the vacuum port (packing tape is not super sticky). It still holds vacuum long enough to put the tape back on after vacuuming. The tape can be reused multiple times. So while we rated the "Food Freshness" as "Poor", because, with no tape, more than half of the bags failed to maintain their vacuum, with the tape applied we would rate the Food Freshness as "Good". We rated the value as "Fair" because the bags are a bit pricey for something that doesn't work consistently. Same for "Ease of Use". The bags are very easy to use, but the need to tape the vacuum port shut complicates the process. Having said that, we will still buy and use the bags and employ the tape sealing method. The best way to prevent cheese from going bad in the fridge is to remove all the air in the package. These bags are great for that (if they seal). Cheese is expensive. Too expensive to waste. We expect the Food Saver machine and zipper bags to pay for themselves over time just in cheese we don't have to throw away, so overall, even though we have to use tape to maintain the vacuum, we think it is still worth the effort. You can judge for yourself if you want to have to do that.

I received a couple of these bags with my Foodsaver machine. I used one of the bags and was very impressed. I bought more of the bags soon after. The bags only seem to hold a seal once. I have only used them in the refrigerator like they said they can be used. I have not tried them at just room temperature. I have had two bags not keep the air out after the initial time sealing them. I have made sure that the zip line is cleaned. I am glad that I bought the other bags on sale because I am afraid that I may have bought something that I can only used once.

I have not had luck having the seals stay on these bags. I have tried filling them at various levels, but they fail 8 out of 10 times within a couple hours. I have tried vacuuming coffee beans, chicken, and brocolli.

Let's see if we can turn your luck around. When sealing moist foods, oily foods or powdered goods, place a paper towel over the food to avoid the moisture, oils or small particles from compromising the seal. Please keep in mind that the zipper bags are designed for refrigerator items, such as deli meats and cheeses, that you access everyday. We do not recommend for long term freezer storage. So that we can assist you further with your zipper bags, please call us at 1-877-777-8042. Our Specialists are here to help you seal more and save more Monday-Friday 8am-8pm Eastern, and Saturday 9am-6pm Eastern.
