I've been reusing standard zip lock freezer bags for years but you can't get as much air out as vacuum sealing. These work great ans as I said, wash them out and reuse again and again.

We have guinea pugs that eat greens and chopped apples. We use the resealable bags to keep it fresh. After 10 the apples did not have even a hint brown on them

Using these bags and the rechargeable vacuum unit, I save all sorts of things--deli meats, cheeses, leftovers. I've found the bags work out well even in the freezer. Since they are zipper bags, I can open and close them over and over and then evacuate the damaging air in just a few seconds.

Love these bags for just about everything. So handy to use, just keep FoodSaver on counter top so when I need to seal a bag it is ready. My cold cut meats and cheeses stay so much longer than in regular zipp bags. Highly recommend these. Sent my sister the hand held sealer and zipp bags.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought the hand sealer and set of sample bags brand new at a thrift store someone had apparently been gifted for christmas.. took it home and used the sample bags and fell in love with it... I went online immediately and bought a supply of bags.. love this hand sealer.. so much easier to use than my large unit....will keep buying bags, and a new unit when I wear this one out...

Cukes, zuchinni, carrots, etc. really stay fresh in the foodsaver vacuum zipper bags. Days & weeks later, just like they came from the garden. Only two of us so things could go bad in a short time but not with foodsaver. Pick your size of bags is nice too.
