Looking for a cost effective way to store cheese. The bags are very expensive even when they are on sale so I do not know if you can save any money by using them. I guess I will just feel better by not throwing away as much food. I am starting to think using the mason jars maybe the the best use for a vacuum sealer and it would be the most cost effective. The problem being having to find space to store mason jars in a tiny condo kitchen.

Thank you for taking the time out to write a review, we appreciate your feedback. The zipper bags are not for sous vide cooking. You can use and regular heat seal bags/ rolls for sous vide cooking up to 185 degrees. Follow the link below:

I am not having much luck with these bags. Even though I double check to be certain the bag is sealed shut they are not staying vacuumed sealed. Shortly after I vacuum seal the bag, air slowly seeps back into the bag. Very disappointed.

We are sorry you are experiencing problems, please try these steps:
Make sure all connections for hose and adapters or handheld are securely in place. Ensure zipper is firmly closed. Slide fingers across entire zipper. Air valve is not on flat surface. Reposition bag so the air valve lies flat on counter with no food or moisture under air valve. Ensure vacuum nozzle is centered over the gray circle and placed flat on air valve. Apply moderate pressure.

I bought these during Black friday last year. I use them for veggies, meat and cheese. They're easy to use - I currently use my hand held vacuum sealer so I don't have bring out my larger unit. I do wash and reuse them (especially on the veggies) a few times before I have to throw them out. Will definitely be getting them again whenever I run out.

Won't hold vacuum.

I received a few of these Vacuum Zipper bags included with my FoodSaver that I bought last year. I thought they would be great to seal cheese in. However, after a day or two they lost the vacuum. I was very disappointed. My husband called about it, and was told they would send a free box of the Vacuum Zipper bags. But instead of the Vacuum Zipper bags, they sent the regular quart size bags. Have any improvements been made on the Vacuum Zipper bags? Other than this problem, I love my FoodSaver. I had my first one almost 20 years before getting a new one.

Hello!
Thank you for taking your time to provide us with your thoughtful feedback on our Zipper Bags! We are very sorry to hear about the issues and we apologize for the inconvenience caused!
If your FoodSaver bags or rolls are losing vacuum, please kindly use the following suggestions:
1. If after the vacuum-sealing process the bags and rolls appear to be unvacuumed, your FoodSaver appliance might not be vacuuming at its desired potential and can be showing signs of being overheated. Avoid vacuum-sealing large quantities of food in succession and allow the unit to rest with the lid open for at least 20 seconds between each seal. 2. Check the sealed area. A wrinkle, moisture or food material along the sealing area will prevent to complete a successful seal and allowing air to leak out form the bag or roll. It is important to make sure there is no moisture in this area. If the food attempted to vacuum-seal was rather oily or greasy, the juices can spill liquids that prevent the bag to seal correctly. Try to pre-freeze your food to avoid excess of juices. Another alternative is to use our Liquid Block Bags ensuring that the sealing is cleaned. For dry food, make sure the unit is levelled and the bag is firmly stretched while inserting. 3. From FoodSaver we recommend vacuum-sealing always with the smooth side of the bag facing up. 4. Check your bag for punctures. In order to test it, please make a bag from your roll, seal both ends and submerge the created bag for a few seconds in water and look for bubbles. If the food you are attempting to vacuum-seal has bones or sharp, pointy edges try cushioning the area.
We do not recommend sealing soft cheeses as well.
We are constantly working on making our products better and better!
Should the troubleshooting not prove helpful, please kindly reach out to us via https://www.foodsaver.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am -5pm Eastern Time.
Thank you!

Love, love, love using this product. I primarily use them for deli meats and cheeses and chopped veggies. I also use the bags in the freezer and have not had a problem with the tabs falling off. I highly recommend these bags.

Even though I haven't reused the zip feature many times, I expect it to be durable. It is a great idea and was so pleased to see it available. Saves on using so many bags. The attachment is small. Unlike what it looked like in the picture.
I use my Food Saver everyday.
