These bags are great when they work. About 5-10% of the time the bag will lose the vacuum seal while in the fridge. I'm very careful to close it completely, but it still happens. I'm sure it's something to do with the zipper not closing entirely, but I can't seem to find any way to do it differently. If you need certainty that the vacuum seal stays in place, you should use the normal heat seal vacuum bags, not these. I use these for things I want to extend shelf life, but that I plan to eat relatively quickly so that it's not the end of the world if the seal breaks.

Bought the 5000 space saving model so now keep it on the counter. I am using the reusable vacuum zipper bags instead of standard sealable bags for left over foods. They are so convent to use over and over. No more dried out moldy cheese. I bought some of these bags and a hand held vacuum for my daughter.
