This unit is very quiet on medium fan speed. On high speed it seems to be quieter than what others have said. I guess it is all subjective as to how much noise is actually noise to you. It was very easy to assemble and changing the filter looks like a snap. Arrived in good condition and sooner than expected due to the backlog of orders.

We have owned a Pure 211 Plus (non-auto) for years (in the bedroom), and love it. We recently purchased a Pure 211 Plus Auto for the living room. It is nearly silent while running on the lowest setting (which has been almost always, for us). Shortly after purchasing it, we had a minor toaster-oven smoke incident. I did not think the smoke reached the living room, but I noticed that the purifier ramped up to a higher speed for a few minutes before settling back down to low. We have owned at least two other brands of purifiers, and we recommend this one. (It can also be set manually to a different speed).

indicator. I placed it next to paper shredder and after a few minutes of shredding, the air quality light turns pink and the air filter speed goes higher. Within a few minutes, the quality light is blue again.

This air purifier is exactly what I was hoping for. With dogs in the house, city pollution, and allergies, we needed something that would run on auto all the time. This unit does just that, and we have noticed a substantial decrease in allergies and visible dust in the air. I’ve tested the auto function by blowing out candles, and sure enough the fan starting blowing harder to process the smoke. Very satisfied.

Great at first, but now whiny

I've had this filter for about two months. At first I loved it--attractive, quiet, and efficient on the automatic cycle. It's in my bedroom and the light is almost always blue (indicating clean air) but turned amber when we blew out candles, which gave me faith it was working. However, two months in the noise has changed from a pleasant almost inaudible hum to a quiet but noticeable whine--kind of like an old fridge. I'm hoping customer service has a solution.

I bought my Blueair after having constant headaches, dizziness, throat irritation, and other breathing issues and it has been a life saver! I can't believe in such a short time how all these symptoms have already dissipated from using this air purifier. My only regret was that I didnt buy it sooner! So grateful for this product.
