Not convinced this unit works

We bought this unit in September of this year based upon great reviews and recommendations. We're not sure this is working at all as the light indicating air quality (blue, red, orange) has shifted from blue even once. Nor does the auto function appear to work at all. Pretty sure we're going to have to return this and I'm very disappointed.

Please be assured that all our purifiers are certified by an independent third party, the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) for Clean Air Delivery Rates (CADR) of dust, pollen, and smoke, so your purifier should indeed be taking pollutants out of the air. No assembly instructions

There are no instructions on how to put the outside filter on. Do I take the top off and attach it with the top covering it? Do I not? Better instructions are needed.

Hi there! To install the pre-filter, please remove the top half of the unit, pull the pre-filter over the bottom half and then replace the top.

I opted for the Auto model after seeing one at a friend's house. In background mode it is virtually silent, yet when the very sensitive particle detector calls for more filtration, there is no mistaking whether it is working. My woodstove released a puff of smoke this morning, which kicked the filter into action within about a minute (across the room); it ran on high for less than 5 minutes before dropping back to background. We are very pleased with the purchase!

I bought this originally for my living room where my dogs usually hang out but decided to put it in my kitchen area. When cooking steaks, fish, or anything else where the odor lingers for 24 hours plus, the odor is gone in just a few hours. I love this purifier!

I never saw the need for an Air Pure until my son turned me on to it. The difference in my home is mind blowing. I complained constantly about dust in my new home. I could vacuum every day and still find dust everywhere. I’m happy to say that is NOT the case any longer. My home feels cleaner the air fresher. And my vacuum and I are thrilled.

I purchased my PURE AIR 12 auto 3 weeks ago and can’t believe how clean and fresh it keeps my entire house. I suffer from respiratory disease and have noticed the change in my breathing and it helps with my oxygen levels. Blueair customer for life!
