Great replacement

Needed a new refrigerator as our old GE just died on us .... it was about 25 years old! Replacement sleek and very roomy and more energy efficient. We have seen our electric bill drop considerably since new one installed.

GE Refrigerator/Freezer

I bought this in bisque to match my other GE appliances. It made a loud noise so the repairman came out and replaced the fan. It is still making the same nois.

It works ok

It seems to be working ok. Only time will tell how durable it is.
The fresh food compartment has quite a bit of usable space with the exception of the door shelves. They are poorly designed... they are deep gallon size but how many people keep that many gallon size containers in the fridge? The butter compartment takes up half of one gallon size shelf leaving an awkward space below it. There is no convenient size space for condiments except the can shelf next to the floor, and I would hardly call that convenient to access. The freezer has an offset "step" shelf that is even more inconvenient than the door shelves. I suppose it was designed that way to accommodate an ice maker. They should have put a straight shelf in the models without the ice maker.
It seems design engineers just don't get out in the real world all that much.

Smaller than it looked in store

It looked a lot bigger in the store but when I got it the refrigerator filled up fast and didn't hold a lot. Same with the freezer.
