Good simple stove

So far so good, went with the coil top since our last one was a ceramic top that was impossible to keep clean/free of scratches. My concern is longevity...why is it these days things don't last? I would expect no less than 20 years and I don't recall my parents EVER getting a new stove or refridgerator! Everything works but that should just be expected. Nice bright white color and install was easy.
